They come, they go...
Friend-cuts happen, obviously, and when someone you know from fandom cuts you its not always a nice feeling but it's usually easy enough to understand - one of you has switched shows or you've taken separate sides in a kerfuffle that just won't lay down and die or they just no longer think Buffy and Faith are the perfect couple... :)
Anyway, point is, it happens and even if you don't like it its not like you can turn around and say "Hey, I thought we were friends!" when you've never known each other outside of a website or two.
But when someone you know in real life who you thought was a friend suddenly cuts you with no warning, presumably just because you haven't seen (or spoken) to each other in a few months it's kinda ouchy. Even though I know its probably just a 'tidy up the lj' thing and its not like we were ever that close, I still can't help asking "What did I do wrong?" Even though I know the answer is "Not a damn thing."
