Eric got on my computer and went to the site. He left the window open. I opened my computer and closed the window, and what catches my eye on the bottom of the screen?

I do not understand. How is "it is what it is" an acceptable justification for an attempt to ruin this book for me?

Revealing a major plot twist seems to be something that would ruin ANY book, no matter how good it was.

Also, I am frustrated when anyone tells me things I don't want to know about a book I either am reading or plan to read. If someone had told me the end of 1984 before I read it, I would be intensely irritated with that person, even though the ending was expected. The spoiler I read was expected, but it still frustrated me, and weakened that point in the book. I still read the book happily, though. The point that "I would still happily read the entire thing" is useless. I did still happily read the entire thing, and still enjoyed the book.

If someone told you that, at the end of King Kong, that Kong died, before you saw the movie, would you not be irritated?

And this book is real. I promise you. I see it sitting right next to me. : P

The point wasn't if you liked King Kong or not, but that you would be irritated at the fact that someone told you a major point of the movie.
