I'm now officially moved in.
84 Howe St, New Haven is the exact address for those who are curious.
So far my room consists of about six boxes, my bed, my TV, and .. a bookcase/dvd stand. Thing. Nothing monumental, but, .. I plan to develop the place over the next few weeks. I might get a plant. Or even a fish.
The area around my apartment is rather nice, thankfully. I've heard horror stories of New Haven but then again, I'm not in the "bad" section of town. I'm in Downtown New Haven, .. the streets littered with several tiny shops and restaurants. It's actually pretty cool seeing these small shops located down a flight of stairs beneath the streets and small Asian restaurants tucked away into the side of large buildings, with little gardens adjacent. Not something I envisioned of the city, even after all my time spent wandering around the area before. And people are friendly. I walked down the street and everyone has a smile and says "good morning" and everything, .. even though half those people follow it up with, "Got any spare change?" It's still a nice gesture.
At some point I will be having a big Smash party. Lately, the crew and I (me, Patrick, Jason, Bob, Ashley, Joe, Matt) have found that we're really good at Smash. We've seen "experts" plays on YouTube and even found some Tournament footage, .. and we're so much better. And being that I know dozens and dozens of people at the mall (more than one person in each store, out of over a hundred stores), I've found that many people also think they're good at Smash. I would love to see just how good everyone thinks they are in comparison. So Smash party, it is.
Now, while my apartment has internet and everything, I do not have a computer. As most of you know, ArataX has been MIA ever since the webcam fiasco a year or two back. If you didn't know, while attempting to uninstall my webcam, I also uninstalled both my mouse and keyboard. And I know, you can just plug a normal, everyday mouse and keyboard into the USB to use them, no set up needed. But guess what? Didn't work. Then my hard-drive went berserk and ate itself in a fit of rage and ecstasy. So I've been going between my parents PC and my macbook. And my macbook charge has died (something not rare at all, from what I hear). All-in-all, it means I have internet but no computer at my place. Yet. So yes, I have been going stir-crazy. It's easy to say you aren't addicted to something until you have to go days without it. But, hey, at least I'm not addicted to WoW or EQ. Just the internet.
And since I know everyone wants to get me an apartment-warming gift (Pat has already), everyone could chip in to buy me a used 360. No HD needed. And with employee discount (which I can get easy peasy) that's about $190 total. ;D So jump on that.
Lastly, the manga of Inuyasha has ended. Ended June 17th. It started in 1996 so it had a pretty good run. This all means that I have a lot of catching up to do. I've started downloading/reading the manga starting from where the anime ended and am working my way up. I believe there's 558 chapters and I'm on 375 or so. Shouldn't be too long until I read 'em all. It's kind of sad to see the series that not only inspired my screen name, but also introduced me to a lot of my friends on the internet, end. But Rumiko couldn't drag it on forever, I suppose.
