Kindy kids and blanket design

An amusing happening today.

Today, there was a bunch of kindergarten kids aged about 4-5 years old storming the Sydney Children's Hospital. They had something like 'Meed the medical students and get a stamp for each station' session. For us, it was a practice for interaction with kids, and measuring their blood pressure, height, weight, listening to the heart, lungs, etc at the same time.

For my session, the kids were from the French school. Apparently it's an international school about 5 mins from where I live, where every student is bilingual with English and French. Since we are talking about 4-5 year old kindy kids here, their level of proficiency in English and French greatly vary! For example, there was this girl, Inez, who didn't speak ANY English at all.

Me: Inez, how old are you?
Inez: Yes.
Me: What about your birthday?
Inez: Yes.
Me: Errr.. Yvette (another 4 year old girl from the same school), can you ask her how old she is?
Yvette: *talking to Inez in French*
Inez: *talking back in French*
Yvette: She's 4.
Me: Oh ok, thank you, that was great!

LOL we were relying on our little 4-5 year old French --> English interpreters! I'm sorry but my French proficiency only goes as far as bonjour (^_^;)

On the KinKi side, I was kinda hoping that they won't have new goods for the KinKiyou concert Part 2, thanks to my laziness in queueing. If they have new goods, I will feel obliged to buy them LOL! BUT NO, they are having a voting for the design of the blanket! the voting will be closed on the 29th.
