My mom just got a Facebook. That's just... wrong. She just sent me a vampire bat and two bears hugging. And wrote on my wall how much she loves me. MOM, my friends reads that. But at least now I can use the excuse that "hey, I bit you and added you to my vampire army just last week" when she complains that I don't call her.
In other news, I got a bit of a freelance extra job that will add nicely to my savings. Yay!
In bandom news, I have been on a bit of a reading binge of Bert/Gerard fic lately, because... well, I don't remember why now, but it was something that suddenly made my soul cry out for them. I wouldn't say there's an abundance of good fic out there, but those that capture that pairing well are SO GOOD. Also been re-reading a lot of Frank/Gerard fic, because mmmm comfort fic. I'm tired of the cold and rain and wind, and sometimes the only thing to do while waiting for spring is to read long plotty AUs where Frank pines while Gerard paints in order to distract himself from the sexual frustration. Also helps if they accidentally fall asleep together and then the next morning they just don't know what to do. Sums up why I love that pairing so much. My love for the Pete/Mikey pairing is a bit more complicated Or, I guess, it's not that complicated: there's this thing between them that is really intriguing, must read fic exploring this, pant pant. But as I like happy endings for the Pete/Mikey, I am sort of limited in what I read. I have it down to a science, though. For instance, any fic that mentions both pete/patrick and pete/mikey as pairings, I tend to skip even if the writer is good and it has lots of recs, simply because it usually doesn't bode well for the Pete and Mikey. Most of the stories seem to have Pete and Mikey's relationship develop first, even though Pete and Patrick have known each other longer, and then inevitably break up so that the story can focus on the Pete/Patrick. And usually the Pete/Mikey will centre around how wrong they are for each other, how doomed their fling is and how they both sort of know it, while personally I see Pete and Mikey as the opposite, just sort of inevitably and helplessly right for each other and drawn together - although maybe just platonically at first, thinking it's that sort of crush-like feeling you can get for a new friend - and then the sudden lust exploding all over the place and the kissing, and all the etc. It's just interesting how everyone have their own personal canon and very different preferences in fic. I mean, some of us like Bert/Gerard. Talk about your doomed pairing. Anyway, tangent.
I have also been looking at pics, because mmmm comfort pics. I remember telling someone about how in every Frank/Gerard pic I imagine that somewhere in the background Mikey is doing that almost full head-turn he does to look away whenever Gerard gets groped on stage. You know, this one:

All I know is that during the tour in the summer we got groping, groping, groping, and then Mikey comes back and nothing. So either they know he disapproves or they are trying to be sensitive about that awkward crush thing going on. Yes, how does Mikey always manage to end up in the middle of these complicated inappropriate threeways?
But here's an unusual one where he looks RIGHT AT THEM, interested.
