Pete turned 30 yesterday.

We've been here for somewhere more than 18 months.

Life is moving on.

We have a house. We have great friends. We were 24 people (plus a couple of little'uns) out together last night for dinner, celebrating Pete's birthday with laughter, conversation, good food and superb cake. Oh, and Pete's mum and brother, too, all the way from the UK. It was a good night.

Sydney and the Blue Mountains are fighting major bushfires. We had big thunderstorms last night. It's raining again tonight. Maybe there'll be more storms. Maybe this time they'll go north and give the amazing firies a bit of relief. Last week we were up the top of Kosci in the snow. Ben & Michelle were 3 hours away on the beach in 28 degrees. This country is crazy, but I love it.

I've been in my new job for about 3 weeks (instore - following 3 weeks of training). Seem to be surviving. I do make mistakes, but they're generally admin type mistakes rather than mistakes that actually affect people's flights, thankfully. It's mostly fun. It's always busy. The team are great, and they keep me laughing. I'll learn stuff, eventually.

Hopefully it will go well. I'm not sure about this week though. I'm very tired, and that doesn't help. Thankfully I'm only working till Thursday (though I did work Sunday) so I will have a 3-day weekend down the coast to recover a bit!
