Where is somewhere you would want to visit?

There are all these places I want to visit, but my mum very wisely once pointed out that in reality, I look at my bank account when I have enough money for a holiday, and I say "I could visit xxx for that!". As long as I have friends abroad, I will visit them rather than visiting new exciting places. Maybe when we have older children, and I want to take *them* to new exciting places, then we will travel to some more places. I'd love to see so many places. The Himalayas, top of the list. Cape Town. The Pacific Islands. Alaska. Mexico, and Brazil. Norway, and the northern lights. Latvia, Prague, the Austrian Tyrol. Italy, and the Greek islands. The 'impossible-to-spell-stan countries' like Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. The Holy Land. Ireland, and the Scottish islands. I'll take my kids to Paris one day, and to Rome, and to New York.

But in the meantime, for now, the places calling my heart are Seattle, Buffalo, Philadelphia and Chicago. Bristol, Bournemouth, Lincoln,  London, Wales, Herefordshire and Essex. Paris, always Paris. Taizé. Belgium. Those are the places I would visit, today, if I had the choice. I'd stop off in New York, but it would be 'on the way'. And Pete might want to stop off a place or two while we're at it.

Friends will always be the strongest pull there is. Wherever they are, that will always be where I want to go.
