I'm finishing embarrasingly late, but it's okay. And other self-comforting thoughts

Fandom snowflake, day 14
So, I'm supposed to ask someone for help. And I choose all of you.

Lately I've been having a lot of doubts about my writing. It's hard as hell to get the words out and when I get them down, they look awkward and bad and I don't like them at all. So if any of you could leave a comment on something I've written in the past, ( Read more... )

Bones rewatch with the Bones club last year. Don't forget the Purim costumes. :) (Oh, jeez, I'd blocked Angela/Wendell from my mind entirely. Sweet guy, but terrible idea. He's not Angela's guy, Hodgins is.)(Some of my best times, too. The Bones club is the best.)

There's a reason you forgot about Angela/Wendell. It's your brain blacking it in reaction to trauma.

I have our Purim costume picture on my desk and our Bones club on tiyul picture taped to my wall. Good times!

(Semi-related: do you think it would be weird if my family and I were the Maccabeats, but they were at home and I was at school? Like, I would be in a group costume, but no one would be able to tell. Recognizable enough not to be awkward?)

Are the Maccabeats distinctive enough for anyone to recognize you, even with the rest of the team? (I mean they kind of just look like guys in ties). Regardless, I don't think it's weird - costumes are as much for the people wearing it than for everyone else, so nothing's weird in my book. (I mean I think we looked ridiculous on our own last year, because we were the only ones who knew who we were, but at least together it was clear we were something.

(I'm still chasing a costume after my brother turned down my master Holmes and Watson plan for a much cooler costume of his own, and because he says no one would recognise us since we're on opposite sides of the country, so. I might be on a crusade against people who insist on recognizable costumes.)

Okay, this is clearly an issue that we are both having. But I think that if you're Sherlock Holmes, you're more recognizable than Watson. Unless their modern incarnations just wear normal people clothes. Then we have a problem. I can't decide if I have this same issue: the Maccabeats have a uniform, but it is indeed the "Jewish guy in tie" version.

It's a lot easier being someone no one recognizes if you're in a group of people no one recognizes. Plus last year we had literal name tags.

There's a used clothes store near-ish-by, so I might just wander there and see if I can put something together.
