Review of Bones finale...

Doubtful anyone will read this, but spoilers ahead that I refuse to put under a cut, mostly because I don't think they work with my Firefox.

I admit that I liked this episode. Okay, dealt with that?? Great, let's move on. Love love LOVED the AU, all the characters, all their alternate versions, all the subtle messages every element gives. Liked the mystery of what the AU even was. I thought it was a great chance to see the actors in different roles than the ones they usually play (Clark as a rapper?! Never would have seen that one. Also, TJ's Irish accent was shockingly good.) David and Emily were FANTASTIC...I kept grinning goofily when I thought of David's face when it dawned on him that she was pregnant. "NO! Yeah?!" Squeeing juuuuuust a little bit now.
On to the amnesia. Yes it was weird, yes it was lame, but YES it will probably bring new viewers in. Non-fans who came to see the episode because they heard about the B/B hookup might actually be sucked in, wondering why this is a big deal. Maybe not a great creative reason, but it's May and Bones hasn't been renewed and even though Hart says it's just a formality, they need to have a steadily growing audience to hold their own. But actually plot-wise...I hold firm to my belief that the amnesia was a brief thing, that when we get back from the summer, Booth will remember everything, but Brennan's world will be shaken to the core. Remember what she wrote in the last scene about losing control of your feelings? (Stolen from DBCrazy :"The thought of losing so much control over personal happiness is unbearable. That's the burden.") So much of Brennan rests on Booth and even when (notice that there?) he regains his memory, she will be forced to face the fact that she is not only in love with Booth but that she needs him, that she trusts him and that when he didn't remember her, it made her world go askew and I don't think she's ready for that. Soooo, my prediction for S5: Brennan dealing, Booth trying to help. Obviously it won't come up in every episode, but as we've seen in past seasons, it'll be a major theme that will show up once in a while.
So sayeth the Fluff.
