I won't be on much for the next two weeks, possibly all month. But especially the next two weeks. It's crunch time before graduation. And I have lots and lots of photo shoots, plus the library and tutoring. Gah. *goes insane*
I invite you all to my graduation, but as invitations are expensive and I know none of you are coming anyways(really, you don't want to put yourself through that boredom, and I'll be claimed by family the whole time before and after anyways), I won't be sending them out to anyone. Just wanted to have that disclaimer. I'd like to, but I have a large family and I'm the first grandchild to graduate, and one of very few in my family who have even gone to college, so I have to reserve invitations for family members or risk being black-listed or something.
Heck, if I could skip the ceremony myself, I would. It's going to be like graduating high school again--it's even in the same place.
My cat Jean-Loup has reappeared after being gone for more than four months. We thought he'd been killed or eaten by something in the woods, and from the way he looks, he must have narrowly escaped that fate. He's missing most of the fur on his tail, one of his ears is jagged with a bit torn out, and there's a gash on his back with no fur. The only cat I've seen in worse shape was when Bagherra got in my mom's truck. I poured peroxide on all his wounds, and Jean-Loup was not happy, but he got tuna. Mason the dog has been having a fit with a new cat around, and Jean-Loup does not like Mason. Mom doesn't want us touching him until we can get him to a vet, but I can't not pet him because he's so pitiful and wants to be petted, so I wrapped my hand in plastic wrap, petted him, and threw away the plastic wrap and washed my hands. I'm sure he's fine, but then again, you never know.
I was going to go to Washington D.C. after graduation, but I've realized I don't have the money to do that. Cursed car insurance. Plus, I've been to D.C. twice before.
I have to start getting stuff together for grad school, too. At the least, I need to retake the GRE. But I might wait and do that in June. Probably that would be better.
I'm glad Lent's over because I need the coffee. I'm sad the Pope died, and interested in who the next Pope will be. Hopefully this new pope will be approving of non-Catholic women getting a chance to be Pope, so that my plans to be Pope will not continue to be thwarted. I think I could bring a lot to the office. And it would be cool to have a Pope Pimpin' Mobile.
(Humor would be my way of dealing with death, in case no one noticed. Bad humor, usually. My apologies.)
Easter update can really be summed up quite easily into: Hail. Lots of it, and lots of rain. My brother's car got several dings on it. A 3-inch piece of hail bounced onto the covered patio, and that is how I know how big the hail was. There was good food before the hail started. Had dessert at the house of one of my mom's new clients. The wife was crazy, but in a good way. She was like some splendid character out of a book. You will see her appearing in something, I'm sure. Actually, for those familiar with the JL, she's rather like Jo Surf's grandmother.
Spring Break update on the way next time I want to procrastinate, but I'll go ahead and say Athens rocked my socks. Rachel and her roommate Carol are way cool, they now have a million potatoes, and the Junkman's Daughter's Brother's store is seriously awesome. If that Obi-Wan Kenobi cardboard cut-out is still there next time I visit, I'll buy it. And those shoes with the missing arch, if they're still there. Lilo & Stitch after Casablanca is the perfect movie combination.
Eh!John might get a new adjective, as he's been much cooler and more talkative in the past week. And he took over running the circulation desk for 30 minutes last night so I could go to the back of the circulation office and try to take a nap. I didn't do anything but close my eyes, but that at least was nice.
I've gotten about 6 hours of sleep in the past two days. Maybe 7. And I'm not getting any sleep tonight, either. Too much to do, but I can't get it done here at the library.
