Being home for the weekend was fun. I re-discovered my inner nerdery by playing Star Wars Monopoly and Star Wars Trivial Pursuit. I made an abundance of Republic Credits in incriments of 6 thanks to my ownership of Endor. I actually was victorious in TP, which surprised me because I thought Greg would win. I brought my Gandalf figure from LOTR TP to use, and I attribute much of the victory to him. Ian, you totally should have came so we could've thrown down.
Mike Grier reminds me of the evil scientist in 12 Monkeys. I like that movie despite intensely disliking Bruce Willis. When I watched Pulp Fiction a few weeks ago I realized how much better it would have been if not for Bruce Willis. I don't know who else could have played Butch...maybe Dominic Monaghan, he can do anything.
I've grown bored with my DVD collection. I really need to get some new ones. I have a bunch in mind, but I want to see some of them first before deciding. I think I'll borrow Eternal Sunshine from my friend Nick soon to see if I like it as much as Adaptation. I want to see a lot of movies this summer, both in theaters and others that have been out but I haven't gotten around to seeing.
Leon (or as the Sons of Vespucci know it, The Professional)
- I really want to but it, I just have to make sure it's the international version. Gary Oldman is excellent and Natalie Portman was surprisingly good (considering Where the Heart Is, but that could just have been the script). I think a special edition just came out, so I have to pick that up.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
- Zach has said I'd like this movie, and from what I've read about it my interest is piqued. A lot of actors I like are in it. Hunter S. Thompson's remains were or will be shot out of a cannon.
American History X
- I love Edward Norton. I'll try to find this used if possible, and maybe Rounders as well.
Kill Bill 2
- I think I only saw it once when we went to Loews. I should pick it up.
Pecker
- I remember vaguely watching it when Comedy Central played it almost daily. I'd like to see it again.
Rushmore and Life Aquatic
- definitely need to buy both. I don't think Life Aquatic is out yet.
Shaolin Soccer
- I've wanted to see it since seeing the preview for it when we went to see Super Size Me (which I also should find).
Ocean's 11
- I like it, but I don't think I'll buy it unless it's used.
Apocalypse Now
- "It's Charlie's beach, sir"
"Charlie don't surf!"
I want to see A Clockwork Orange, and I'd like to watch L.A Confidential and Crimson Tide with Zach since I think both will be pretty good and we've made fun of him for far too long.
I just found out that Guy Ritchie has a new movie coming out with none other then Turkish (Jason Statham) himself. It looks like a continuation of his plan to slightly alter one script and sell it as a brand new movie.
Holy fucking shit, apparently there will be a Jurassic Park IV. The movie is called The Extinction, so I'm pretty sure the dinosaurs will live happily ever after. It's written by the guy who wrote Kingdom of Heaven, which after preliminary analysis looks interesting. Oh well, we'll see.
Anyway, only three graded assignments left until summer. Che nada.
