02/02/01 10:35 AM, 26 year old Caucasian David King was found at his apartment by Huntington Park, California USA, murdered with his brain removed in a surgical fashion. 02/02/01 8:12 PM, 29 year old African American Charles Magne's body is found in a back alley in north Inglewood, California USA, heart surgically removed. On 02/03/01, 31 year old Cuban American, Caesar Revali, is murdered in his home in downtown Florence, California USA, eyes surgically removed. 02/09/01, 32 year old Caucasian Alexander Mason's body is found in a hotel on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Cause of death was ruled out as trauma to the head, but a great deal of his blood had been drained from puncture marks in his lower arms. [5+]
02/10/01, 24 year old African American Marian Pallas is found with brain removed at her condo between Huntington Park and Mayood, California USA. 02/11/01, 20 year old Caucasian Judith Berk's body is discovered in a gutter on the outskirts of Florence, California USA, her heart surgically removed. Soon would follow two more victims from 02/13-14/01: 34 year old North Korean woman Rachel Yong and 41 year old Mexican American Regina Nera. Former's cause of death was head trauma; eyeballs surgically removed. The latter's was caused by blood loss in the same fashion as Mason's. [5+]

However, there is more to these three obvious factors that bind the murders together. Looking into it, I found it went much deeper. [-3]
Each victim had pieces removed or blood drained in a professional, surgical manner. This would mean our murderer or murderers were most likely doctors or surgeons. Each murder took place in the neighboring area outside of Los Angeles, around and inside the cities Florence, Huntington Park and Maywood. Keeping the suspects as doctors and surgeons in mind, I traced the victims back to any and all hospital reports. Each brought me to three different hospitals; LA Heart Hospital, Bay River Hospital and Catholic Medical Center. [5+]
King and Pallas attended Catholic Medical Center in Florence; Revali, Nera and Berk attended LA Heart Hospital in Los Angeles and Yong Bay River Hospital right outside Huntington Park. Mason's last hospital visit was in 06/07/00 in San Francisco, California USA. If we are working with multiple criminals, say four, it's possible two are working in the same hospital. More specifically LA Heart Hospital. Looking through medical files, doctor reports and surveys kindly offered to me by the LAPD officers Harris Jamerson and Todd Burns, I narrowed my suspects down to four. [5+]
Craig Stevens, a brain surgeon and Nancy Shell, a heart surgeon, both from LA Heart Hospital; Juan Terros, ocular oncologist from Catholic Medical Center and Ralph Douglus, lab technician. Each the most experienced in their fields. While continuing my research, I had officer Jamerson, Burns and two other police officers, Tyler Notte and Shelley Ranfield keep an eye on these four suspects from a distance, trailing them wherever they went. Looking through the victim list again, I started making the connections. Narrowing it down, I decided to give my plan a try. [-3]
At each hospital, I sent in four private investigators undercover. Each would meet with one of the suspects, feigning an ailment related to their field. They would serve as potential next victims. [-2]

The next day, 02/15/01 at 1:01 AM, a man broke into the hotel where Marco [agent Manny Loan] had been staying. The assailant attempted to hit Loan on the head with a pipe, but was pinned down by Loan in the process. The three cops on duty watching the hotel came in and arrested the man, who turned out to be Juan Terros. [-1]
After thorough investigation, Turros confessed to murdering Caesar Revali and Rachel Yong. He later admitted that the three other suspects, Stevens, Shell and Douglus, had killed the remaining victims. LAPD police officers arrested Stevens and Shell at their flats in Los Angeles. Douglus was missing from his house and would later turn up in Mercy Care Hospital the next day in Florence. He suffered a near fatal bullet wounds in his chest. [-1]
Stevens and Shell did not confess to the murders, and chose to speak only with their lawyers present. Douglus, however, explained the murders and why they were all connected upon interrogation. This confirmed my suspicions. [-2]
These victims were not randomly chosen. In fact, Douglus admitted they were carefully selected after weeks of screening and searching. Beyond the three traits the eight victims shared, one major reason they were chosen was due to their names. Each of them akin to those of playing cards. Each player was given a number and one of the card's symbols that they would need to mark on their victim's bodies as proof of their kills. The first person to bring him a so-called "Royal Flush" won the money. [-1]
In this case, Stevens was to get a "Royal Flush" of "Spades;" I would later be informed the use of brains in the underground market was sold to doctors needing test subjects and even bought by a few small exotic restaurants. Nancy Shell was to make a "Royal Flush" of "Hearts." Juan Terros was to make a "Royal Flush" of "Diamonds;" eyes on this particular black market were sold for experimentation as well as the corneas. Finally, Ralph Douglus was to make a "Royal Flush" of "Clubs." [-1]
I can only imagine that after the "Jacks" had been chosen, the "10's" would be next. Douglus confirmed this and said for those whom would be "10 cards," their names would have to "end in ten letters." Douglus's wounds were caused by Thomas Jeffry; upon knowing the others had been arrested, he had attempted to confront Jeffry and demand he win the money by default. Jeffry shot him three times before fleeing the scene, later to be arrested right outside Los Angeles. [-2]
Even the 'A's and the spots chosen on the body where they would leave their marks was critical. Part of a Royal Flush consists of Aces; in this case, the players themselves.
