Mr. Schue wrote the word friendships on the whiteboard and circled it. He turned to the group, a big grin on his face and nodded as if he'd just written something profound. "Friendships. I look around at you guys and I see a lot of those in here. But what do they really mean? What makes you friends with one person, but not someone else? C.S. Lewis says, 'Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one.' Now, I know we've been working really hard on coming together as a team and we now have more than enough members to compete in the competitions next year now. But it's going to take more than just numbers to get us to the top. It's going to take us working as a team and building..." He walked backwards, recapping his marker and using it as a pointer. "...friendships. Now, your partner assignments this time will be three weeks in preparation, but that is because I want everyone to bring in a piece that we might possibly be able to use in our Spring Showcase Extravaganza. So, I want everyone to but their thinking caps on and really come up with something great."
He looked around the room, a little disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm from the kids. Still, he was hopeful. They were right on the cusp of something amazing. He just knew it. They just needed...the right motivation. He was sure the partner projects would help. "Okay, the partners this time are as follows:

Artie Abrams and Santana Lopez
Noah Puckerman and Rachel Berry
Fiona Jackson and Dave Karofsky
Mike Chang and Mercedes Jones
Brittany Pierce and Finn Hudson
Quinn Fabray and Niki Llwellyn
Kurt Hummel, Sebastian Smythe, and Blaine Anderson
As per the rules last time, there is to be no switching. This should be an easy one guys. So bring your A game and have a good weekend.
