Rachel cleared her throat, gaining the attention of the whole room. "Good afternoon glee club and glee club hopefuls," she greeted, glancing over at the seats situated to the side, away from the rest of the group. "As you are well aware, this afternoon is the second round of auditions for the year," Rachel began, making sure to meet each of their ( Read more... )

For awhile now, Blaine had played around with the thought of joining William McKinley's glee club; he really did love to perform, but there had been something holding him back and getting in the way of him auditioning- fear. He wasn't afraid of singing in front of a large group, forgetting the lyrics, or anything along those lines, but he was afraid of what people may say if he was a part of the glee club. At his old school, Blaine had been a member of the acapella group and at first it had been exactly what he was looking for. However, after the rumors had spread and once the bullying began, Blaine had dropped out of the group. Now, he was just scared that the same thing would happen to him again and that he'd had to back out of something he truly loved.

He told himself that it would be different this time, William McKinley wasn't really like Ashland High and maybe this time it would be different. It was after he began working on Chicago that Blaine decided that he wanted to audition. Being involved in the musical reminded him how much he loved to perform and if he let the fear of being bullied again ruin that for him, then what was the point of doing anything he liked? The hardest part after deciding to join was choosing a song that suited him. He figured a lot of the other auditioning hopefuls would choose songs that ranged anywhere on the Billboard's top hits and he wanted something that was less well known, something that actually had a bit of meaning to him,.. but, that was the hard part, He changed his mind about a dozen times already and now the time for second guessing was long gone, it was audition day.

He reviewed his sheet music carefully over and over again as he waited for the performances to begin. Once they finally had, the practicing was over and it was now or never. He watched carefully as the older looking red head took the center of the choir room and started his song. Following him was Dave, one of the few people that Blaine actively tried to avoid around the hallways. After their first interaction, Blaine was a bit hesitant to go anywhere near him, even after he apologized. A blonde was called next and he started his performance of This Charming Man. So far, everyone was... well, really good which surprised him a little.

Two more performances followed the blonde before finally Rachel called his name off the list. This was it, every nervous shiver had to leave his body now and he had to do all that he knew how to do- sing. He cleared his throat and sat down at the piano, opting to play himself rather than just sing. "Hi everyone, I'm Blaine for whoever hasn't met me yet. Uh and today, I will be performing a song called Not Alone. It's not really a song that a lot of people are familiar with, but it's one of many that I am passionate about. So, here goes nothing," he cleared his throat one last time and looked down at the keys before his fingers. Counting off from three in his head, his finger laid down on the first key and he began.

Kurt didn't know this guy, but he had to admit that he had a talent that was far greater than the man's very small size. He had his voice under control and sang with a passion that Kurt had rarely seen before in anyone but Rachel.. Well, as long as this guy was not a male version of Rachel, which it didn't seem like at all, he had to vote.. 'yes'

The short dude seemed to be a decent singer, though now Finn was starting to worry he was going to lose his male lead position. This wasn't good. Too many good guys wanted in.

but still, Finn wasn't so selfish... so he marked yes.
