Tina bit the inside of her lip when Mike got up on stage and crossed her fingers. *Come on, Rink. You can do this.* She thought, silently urging him on. She felt nervous. Maybe because she knew Mike was nervous about having to sing. Maybe because she knew that even though he'd agreed to audition that he was hesitant about joining Glee club.
Part of her actually felt bad about having asked him to try out. She knew that she'd essentially guilted him into doing it by bringing the fact that they spent less time together now that they were in high school into the equation. The other part of her, the dominate part, just really wanted him to be in the club. Only part of that want was selfish. Mike was an amazing dancer and he deserved for other people to know that. It wasn't fair that he hadn't had the opportunity to showcase his talents just because his parents thought that kind of thing was wasteful.
Once Mike actually started performing, Tina relaxed. She couldn't not smile watching him dance, it was just impossible. He was brilliant. When he finished she clapped as loud as she could. She didn't bother looking around to see what everyone else thought, she just locked eyes with him, "so, so, so, awesome," she mouthed, flashing him her best grin.
Mike felt so relieved when he finished his routine without incident. He scrambled to his feet and gave a bow. He caught sight of Tina and grinned back at her. He mouthed his thanks and got off the stage, smile still plastered on his face.
