Who: Kurt & Sebastian
When: January 25, 2012, Mid-day
Where: Choir Room
What: A conversation that resembles a chase.

Sebastian sat in front of the piano, his fingers ran up and down the white keys as he prepared himself. He couldn’t focus on the music however. His mind was in about a million different places at once. The weirdest part about it was what he’d seen during his blackout wasn’t even at the forefront of his mind. His dreams were what had him in a rut these days. As the days to his audition grew closer he found one Kurt Hummel appearing in his dreams more often. To make it all the worse, it wasn’t singing the two of them were working on- but an entirely different kind of music.

Kurt slid closed the latest text with Mercedes about the season’s trend in russet. Really it was such a versatile color he wasn’t sure what the diva was worried about. He didn’t even notice Sebastian as he put down his satchel by his traditional chair. He looked up finally to see one of the last men he wanted to associate with at the piano. “Sebastian.” He greeted acidly.

He looked over at Kurt and rolled his eyes as the boy ignored him walking in. He wasn’t sure which he would have preferred, given his current feelings regarding proximity to the other boy. Finally the icey words came out of Kurt’s mouth in the usual tone of voice he used when addressing Sebastian. He smirked a little and played a few keys on the piano. “Hey Dollface.” he winked.

“Are you doing anything actually productive or are you just torturing the ivories?” Kurt’s bitch voice was in full form.

He ran his fingers over a few dissonant notes, just to get a rise out of Kurt. “May I remind you, that it was you who begged me to join your little hodgepodge of performers.” he spun on the piano bench to face the other boy.

Kurt tilted his head with a slight cringe. Really the man knew exactly how to make his buttons break. “Do you even have an audition piece chosen?”

He nodded. “I do.” he stood up, and straddled the seat in front of Kurt, holding his arms over the top of the chair. “Why so concerned?”

Kurt leaned back, his spine straight enough to snap. “Because I love this club. It’s my life and I want it to be the best. Now, what did you pick?”

Sebastian loved the way he could make Kurt react. He was aware it was slightly sadistic, but where was the fun in playing nice all the time. “Giants in the Sky from Into the Woods, or is that not good enough for your precious club?”

“That...” was perfect. Damn Sebastian. He was perfect and doing a musical, one of Kurt’s favorites. “It will do.”

“Well I’m glad you agree.” he said unenthusiastically, as Kurt gave him the bare minimum of recognition. “When did you become such a smug little bastard?” he narrowed his eyes slightly at the other boy.

“Likely around the same time you became a utter bastard. You know when you abandoned the friends you did have in exchange for false platitudes of fair weather friends.” Kurt raised a single eyebrow.

“Oh don’t be jealous over the fact that I had the idea before you.” he stood up from his seat. “Kurt, we were friends out of necessity to survive the cruelness of adolescence, not because of some deeper bond.”

“Clearly.” Even if he had thought they were actually friends. “I don’t care about anything but your voice.”

He chuckled and shook his head, nearing Kurt. “I think you care about a bit more than that, because frankly anyone that didn’t care about me wouldn’t have such a reaction to my presence.”

“I don’t know what you’re talk about.” He crossed his legs and turned to the side away from Sebastian. The last thing he wanted to talk about was their past.

“You know exactly what I”m talking about, and it’s what makes pushing your buttons so much fun.” he said with a cocky tone.

“You were a friend, a good one or so I thought. Those don’t happen every often to a gay kid in Lima with a closet made of glass.” He hissed, his nose wrinkling as he faced Sebastian.

Sebastian felt the guilt start to resonate in his stomach, it didn’t happen to him often with Kurt, but every once in a while the feelings would arise. He disliked the reactions he had in these instances, but they were unavoidable at times. He looked away from Kurt without saying a word this time.

Kurt was more then happy to have the topic dropped. Sebastian’s presence in glee was a necessary evil. Kurt really should have expected some sort of betrayal from the childhood friend sho never did understand why the rules should apply to him. Still... Kurt considered himself loyal if nothing else and had expected it in return. “I’m sure everyone will enjoy your performance. If you don’t mind this tends to be my quiet contemplative time.”

“If you don’t mind, I was sitting in here working first Doll Face.” he rolled his eyes at Kurt’s nonchalant dismissal. “So either put up with my pleasant presence or get out.”

“I despise you.” Kurt informed him before pulling out his current Vogue issue. “I am not giving up my choir room. Go sing your little song if you intend to actually practice rather then bother me.”

He stood, and moved back toward Kurt’s seat. Placing his hands on Kurt’s shoulders he rubbed them with a chuckle. “Oh Kurtsie, won’t it be so much fun to spend so much extra time together once I’m in the New Directions?”

Kurt jerked his body out of Sebastian’s hands. “Stop that. No I don’t!”

“No you don’t what?” he smiles brightly, leaning down and grinning against his ear.

Kurt pulled away, standing and taking three very purposeful steps. “I don’t think it will be fun in the least. Don’t touch me. Don’t talk to me. And most certainly do not call me Kurtie!”

He laughed again, and moved across the room, standing right in front of Kurt. “Why not? Because you like it?” he whispers in his cocky tone.

“No because I don’t want you near me. What part of your mind is malfunctioning? The part that processes Don’t or No?” Kurt’s voice rose shrilly.

His eyes darted to Kurt’s lips, only half processing what he was saying. Licking his own lips he looked up and met eyes with Kurt’s- just like his dreams, only this time he wasn’t dreaming at all. He didn’t really know what he was doing until it happened, and his lips crashed forcefully into Kurt’s.

Kurt was shocked, for a moment he couldn’t do anything. Sebastian’s mouth was warm and on him and this was not what Kurt wanted for his first kiss. He pulled back and slapped his hand open palmed right across Sebastian’s cheek. “How dare you!”

Reaching up and rubbing his cheek, Sebastian just grinned at Kurt. “Never took you for a roughhouser Doll Face.” Yeah, he was embarrassed, but he wasn’t about to let Kurt in on that fact. He reached down and grabbed his backpack, slinging it back over his shoulder. “I’ll see you tomorrow, try not to dream about me too much.”

Kurt watched Sebastian leave, all the fires of hell burning in his blue eyes. He wasn’t sure what he hated more, the sarcastic comment or the fact that Sebastian had just taken his first kiss. Either way he was completely justified in kicking the chair nearest to him. Fucking Sebastian!
