She wasn't answering his calls. It had been a long couple of weeks, and he just wanted an answer, but he had gotten steadily angrier the longer he couldn't get a hold of her. At first he thought, okay, she didn't get his message, but

Rachel stared down at her phone in her hand. Journey's 'Faithfully' was playing and Finn's face flashed across the screen. She'd been avoiding him for weeks. At first it wasn't intentional, but after the first two messages he'd left, she'd begun avoiding him. With their anniversary coming up for them in a few days, Rachel knew she couldn't avoid him anymore.

Apprehensively, she answered the call, holding the phone up to her ear. "Hello?"

Finn let out a breath. She actually answered.

"Rachel," He started, then paused, not sure what he wanted to say after all this time. A number of things ran through his mind, each one angrier than the last, before he finally just settled on: "You answered."

"I did," she answered in trepidation. She could already hear the anger in his voice and he'd only said three words.

She cleared her throat when there was nothing forthcoming from his end of the phone. "How are you?" she asked.

Finn contemplated getting bogged down in the smalltalk, but after so long of not actually getting to say what he wanted to say, he just decided to skip it. "Not very good, actually." He paused. "I'm guessing you know why I'm calling. You haven't been talking to me, and even I know that's on purpose. So I just have to ask: what do you think you're doing, Rach?"

Rachel held back tears. "You can't help who you fall in love with, Finn," she replied biting her bottom lip.

Finn furrowed his brow, his expression pained. "Yeah," he agreed, almost inaudibly. "Yeah, I guess not."

"I'm sorry," Rachel said. She was sorry she'd hurt Finn and Mike and also Abby. But she wasn't sorry she'd fallen for Quinn. Quinn made her happy. Quinn made her feel more than she had ever before.

"I believe you."

Finn shook his head again before standing up straight. "I'm sorry, too. It's just not really something I-" He stopped, letting out a short, sad laugh at the strangeness of it all. "Never in a million years."
