AN ODE TO MOM
I
For nine long months you carried me
And for many more after that
You kissed away the tears that fell
For each cut, bump and scab.
You gave up everything
And sacrificed so much time
You gave me anything and everything
And said that I was worth every dime.
You forgave me when I was bad
And held me close when I felt sad
II
You watched out for me when I was troubled
You guided me when I was lost
You held me when my fears doubled
And you listened to every thought
After all you’ve done
I can’t find the words to say
I can not thank you enough
For never leading me astray.
So thanks for all you’ve done
I just want you to know, I love you mom.
