fall break stuff

so this is the last night of fall break. back to classes tomorrow. i love how whenever a school break/holiday comes, you mostly focus on the fact that you have 1, 2, 3, whatever days off; but what you don't consciously realize usually is that not only do you have those x number of days off, but the school week is even shorter (5-x days..graph it, it's true). it's not like you get 2 days off then go to school for your 5-day week. it's like a win win situation but without options. it's like a win win fact. it's also like active vs. passive. conscious vs. subconscious. crazy.

so friday night nisha and i watched shawshank redemption at her apartment. damn awesome movie. tim robbins is basically awesome by all definitions of the word (yeah, he inspires awe in me). she also got mystic river this weekend, which has tim robbins, sean penn, and kevin bacon. directed by clint eastwood. supposed to be a really good drama. hope to watch it soon.

saturday i slept till 2:45. ate at panini panini with keith. best sandwiches ever. bread. so. good. then went to giordano's for deep dish before heading to laura curry's birthday party. hung out. had some cake. the usual. played some heart and zeppelin on brooke's record player.

sunday i don't really remember what i did during the day. oh now i do. ross and i worked out a few hours. went to panini panini because ross owed me a meal from the night before at giordano's. had more awesome sandwich-ness. bread. so. good. we parted for a bit while i hung out at my apartment and visited kristina, adriana, and tara. then i met up with ross and steve to go to the international film festival, but tickets were sold out to the squid and the whale, so we ended up at stella's diner. good burger there. excellent oreo shake. 5 stars. kaffein is also good. can't decide what's better. does such a decision even purport to exist? who knows. enough diner philosophy. came back and listened to a ton of music in my room by myself until 4 am. mostly pink floyd, king crimson, jethro tull type stuff. some nick drake at the end. a little yes scattered here and there.

yesterday..slept late again. don't remember what else. but then there was the taco fiesta extravaganza spectacular at kristina's. good food, good fun. ended up back at the apartment later that night and did the music thing for a few hours before going to sleep at 4 am.

today..woke up at 11 for good measure. i've been used to lounging around this apartment by myself the past few days, so i was laying around in just my boxers this morning just watching tv when scott and his dad came in. oh well. at least his mom wasn't there. went to the library a little later. didn't get much done. ate mexican with nisha a couple hours ago, then went back to the library. it closed at 8 tonight for some reason. now i'm back here. don't feel like analysis right now.

all in all, pretty decent, relaxing break. i'm pretty content that i caught up on a lot of music. i need to do that more often. the past 3 weeks have been rather hellish, and i've had little time to just sit back and enjoy some tunes.

we have a cool touch lamp that gets pretty dim in the living room, but i wished i had a candle the other night. i think that'd really set the mood for, say, "echoes." or like in almost famous, the sister tells her little brother to turn all the lights off, light a candle, and listen to the who's "tommy." i'm not sure if tommy would really do it for me though. but it's worth a try. pink floyd would definitely do the trick. so would the moody blues.."days of future passed." among others.

that's all for now.
