Haha, not sure if I'm feeling nostalgic or not... Forgot what it meant... anyways, my dad sent this to me in an email, and I thought i'd share it

I was really suprised to see who it was by. I hadn't really thought it was talking about angels - one reason was because of the verse in Matthew (but He explained that good enough for me).
The other reason he did not get into - but it seems to me like 1 Pet 3:18-20 is talking about these pre-flood people, and the fact that the gospel was preached to them. Which is fine, except that if these people were born from angels and women, they would not be descended from Adam... so could the gospel even apply to them? The only way I see around that is that I am interpreting 1 Pet 3:18-20 wrongly; or there were still plenty of people left on earth who were natural born humans and it was to them that the gospel was preached; or, what was "proclaimed" to them was something other than the gospel.
Plus, Genesis 6 says there were giants in those day AND ALSO AFTERWARD - meaning after the flood apparantly, and there were, like Goliath, but there is no indication that Goliath was an unnatural birth.
Still, I think I tend to agree with the angel interpretation... I am pretty sure there is a ton of weird and crazy and complex stuff going on all the time with angels and demons that we have no idea about.
