[Yuuto is sitting in his apartment, idly spinning a crystal fragment in his fingers. It's playing back a "memory," but it's hard to make out with the quality of the communicator.]
You all got me curious about these pretty little crystals floating around. Memories, huh...
Well, memories are just memories. There's nothing we can do about them but forget them.
[And with that, he stops playing with the crystal, and within moments it shatters, frozen from the inside out - though whether or not you can tell that is debatable.]
It looks like I got lucky though...
[A new crystal now, held up between his thumb and forefinger. He gazes at it for a moment, watching with a kind of intensely curious detachment.]
Memories of the future? Now I'm interested.
[The first crystal showed something from Yuuto's past which no one - not even me! - knows what it was (Yuuto has pretty much no canon memories from prior to the start of the series). The second one shows his fight with Aoki and Karen in the anime. He has no way of knowing that that's not how it turns out for him.]
