So this review has been a bit overdue. I actually finished that ep over ten days ago, but I have been either too busy or too lazy to type and post this ;)
I love Jo in this one! Also, it highlights that even if Jo is clearly attractive and the source of desire to men around her, she is in charge of her own sexuality. She chooses for herself and is respected for it. Sadly this is something that early 80's Who get worse in.
Oh yay, sea Devils! I'm currently re-watching that one on my own. :)
I think it was a bid from John Nathan-Turner to increase popularity. I have wondered that the fact that he was gay may have been why Tegan and Peri was presented in such a stereotypical sexualized way. You know, knowing the motions but not really feeling it, so no feeling for the nuances. It gets better somehwere halfway through Six first season, after some massive criticism.
