Title: Beautiful Bride [2/2]
Author: FloweryMisha
Pairing: BaekYeol
Warning: BoyxBoy love. Enough said.
Summary: Chanyeol let go of the bride and realized it was the best decision he had ever made.
[1] Chanyeol hadn’t told Baekhyun that he didn’t actually need to go to work.
But he left everyday in the morning. Baekhyun noticed that sometimes he went back home early, but he said nothing about it.
They constantly texted each other and Chanyeol felt strange. It was kind of nice to have someone text him regularly, asking how his day was and those sweet nothings. It was also kind of nice for Chanyeol to wait for Baekhyun’s reply and so he kept his phone near at all time. But most of all, he thought that it was kind of nice to come home to someone. Baekhyun would always welcome him home with that pretty smile of his.
Chanyeol had texted Baekhyun to not cook that afternoon. He wanted to eat takeouts for dinner and bought two packages of Chinese food. The moment he arrived, Chanyeol locked his car and went up to his apartment on the second floor. He was fumbling for the keys in his pocket when the door suddenly swung opened.
Baekhyun smiled shyly at him and Chanyeol felt his world spinning.
“Chinese food,” Baekhyun said cheerily as he took the takeouts from Chanyeol’s hand. “It’s been a while.”
It seemed like Baekhyun had just taken a shower because he smelled incredibly good. Chanyeol used the same soap-it was his afterall-but it never smelled this good on himself. Baekhyun’s scent was...intoxicating. Chanyeol also noticed that Baekhyun had smiled a lot lately. His smile was sincere and it made him even prettier. He felt amazed at the other’s natural beauty and manner. Baekhyun was definitely taught to live in a high class society, the male was polite, well behaved and he was also kind hearted.
Chanyeol was fond of everything about Baekhyun.
He was about to take his coat off when suddenly a knock was heard on the door.
Baekhyun froze in his track, his eyes widened in horror at the taller male. Chanyeol instinctively pressed a finger to his lips and Baekhyun nodded nervously. Chanyeol gestured the bedroom and Baekhyun tiptoed carefully to the pointed place after putting the food on the table. He waited until Baekhyun disappeared into the room and opened the door casually.
“Did you change your number?”
Kyungsoo stood there with a phone in his hand, brows knotted together.
“Good evening, Kyungsoo-ah. Yeah, I did change my number.”
“You could have told me,” Kyungsoo mumbled and he was about to walk in when he realized Chanyeol had stiffened. He paused and looked around. “...I can’t come in?”
“Sure,” Chanyeol finally answered after a moment of silence.
“I tried to reach you for days,” Kyungsoo sighed. “Everyone else was also worried. Is everything alright, Hyung?”
“Yeah, everything’s alright.”
“Really? Because honestly, it doesn’t look like it. You decided to just take a few days off out of nowhere and changed your number. This isn’t you, Hyung,” Kyungsoo talked and examined Chanyeol for a little bit. There seemed to be nothing wrong with his appearance. In fact, he looked wiser and more mature.
Chanyeol ran a hand through his hair casually. “I’m really okay, Kyungsoo-ah. I just need to take my mind off of a few things. That’s all. And I’m so sorry for not informing you about my new number. It’s just kind of spontaneous.”
Kyungsoo pressed his lips into a thin line as he stared at Chanyeol disapprovingly. Chanyeol was not being himself, as if he was hiding something. Like he had a secret. Kyungsoo finally gave up and let out a long sigh. “If you say so...well, I should be going then...Jongin’s waiting for me.”
“Kyungsoo-ah,” Chanyeol called.
“Yeah?”
“About our last project-the wedding... I’m so sorry.”
Kyungsoo’s eyes softened as he smiled. “It wasn’t your fault. There was nothing we could do, Hyung. The bride ran away.”
“Still, I...”
“The others didn’t blame you, Hyung. We didn’t blame you at all. Maybe it was just a bad luck.”
Chanyeol said nothing.
“Don’t tell me it’s what you’ve been thinking all the time? You feel like you’ve failed us?”
I feel like I’ve failed myself.
“It happened for a reason, Hyung. Who knows, maybe after this we’ll get even bigger wedding plans and events,” Kyungsoo grinned and waved his hand. “Go back to what you were doing before I came. Dinner?”
Chanyeol nodded. “Yeah.”
Kyungsoo gave him a weird stare as he glanced at the table. “You bought two?”
Chanyeol deadpanned as he looked over his shoulder. “Thought I’d stock for tomorrow.”
Kyungsoo frowned and was about to say something, but held it inside. “Ah. See you, Hyung.”
Baekhyun heard the sound of the door being closed and he clenched his chest painfully.
It happened for a reason.
Everything happened for the reason.
Then what was the reason for me?
Baekhyun wanted to cry.
***
Chanyeol didn’t go anywhere that day.
Baekhyun was watching the television while he was reading a sport magazine. The magazine was actually ignored because Chanyeol couldn’t stop glancing at Baekhyun. He stared at the male, read one sentence in the magazine and went back to staring at him again. He looked away but his line of sight always returned back to him again helplessly.
“You know,” Chanyeol said all of a sudden and Baekhyun turned to him. “We’re running out of food. What should we have for dinner tonight?”
Baekhyun smiled. “What do you want?”
“Hmm,” Chanyeol put the magazine away. “Roasted chicken. Lots of vegetables.”
“Okay,” Baekhyun chuckled. “Um, shall I write the ingredients for you? We don’t have chicken in the refrigerator.”
“Better yet,” Chanyeol stood up. “Why don’t you come with me?”
“W-with you?”
“I mean,” Chanyeol cleared his throat before proceeding unsurely. “You must be bored staying home for almost a week, right? You can stay in the car while I go get the groceries done...”
Baekhyun’s face brightened. “Can I...?”
“Sure,” Chanyeol tousled Baekhyun’s hair caringly and the latter stood up in glee.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the usual supermarket Chanyeol frequented with his friends. Baekhyun stayed in the car, nodding a little too happily when Chanyeol told him to lock the car from the inside and call him if he ever needed anything. The taller of the two then went inside the supermarket with a list in his hand.
It seemed that everything did happen for a reason.
Even the bad ones.
They might say that they had picked a bad day to go shopping. The very same day that Kyungsoo and the others happened to swing by at the supermarket.
It was Sehun who noticed Chanyeol’s car at the parking lot.
“Chanyeol-hyung must be inside. I say we look for him!”
“And what do we do after we find him?”
“...we ask him to treat us.”
Yixing laughed at how stupid it sounded and Kris only shook his head in amusement. The four of them, including Kyungsoo decided to just wait in front of the supermarket for Chanyeol. Kyungsoo’s eyes drifted to Chanyeol’s car as the others were engaged in a conversation about the weather and other boring topics when he realized someone was in the car. He frowned to himself and wondered who could it be. Unconsciously, his feet dragged himself to the direction of Chanyeol’s car.
“Kyungsoo-ah?”, Kris called.
“There’s someone in the car,” Kyungsoo muttered.
“What?”
The others quickly followed him as they were getting closer to the car and Baekhyun, inside, noticed this.
Baekhyun panickly reached out for his phone and dialed Chanyeol’s number hastily. By the time Chanyeol picked up, Kyungsoo and the others had already arrived by the car and he could only cried, “Chanyeol-ssi!”
Chanyeol dropped everything he was holding and rushed back to his car in record time.
Kyungsoo pressed a hand on the window and Baekhyun instinctively leaned back in fear.
“Who is it...?”, Kyungsoo whispered as he frowned at Baekhyun.
“Oh my God,” Yixing breathed as realization dawned upon him. “That’s the bride.”
“The bride?”, the others exclaimed in unison.
“The bride that ran away?”, Sehun asked in confusion.
“Yeah. He’s definitely the bride.”
“Oh my God,” Kyungsoo went pale.“What does it mean?”
“Hey!”
Sehun, Kris, Yixing and Kyungsoo turned around to see Chanyeol was approaching them in a rather angry state. Sehun took a step back immediately and Kyungsoo glanced back and forth between Chanyeol and Baekhyun in confusion.
It suddenly made sense.
“The bride didn’t run away,” Kyungsoo’s voice was trembling. “You let him get away!”
Baekhyun became more agitated as time passed and he almost got ouf ot he car but the stern look Chanyeol gave him made him hesitated.
“Just stop, okay?”, Chanyeol groaned.
“What the hell were you thinking, Hyung?”
“Please, Kyungsoo-yah, please-“
“You ruined the wedding yourself! It was you! And what did you tell the parents? You blamed the bridesmaid for not being there? I can’t believe this!”
“Please, stop-“
“Why did you do it, Hyung? Why???”
“He cried, that’s why,” Chanyeol snapped in frustration and all of them fell silent. He sighed furiously and placed a hand on his forehead. Chanyeol waited for a moment to calm himself down and sighed deeply.
“When I walked into the room that day, he-he was a mess. He was crying, his eyes were puffy, he was in no state to get married.”
“Oh, my, God,” Kris spoke slowly, emphasizing each word. “You’re in love.”
Chanyeol looked at him blankly. “What?”
“You fell in love with him,” Yixing stated as-a-matter-of-factly.
“You did not,” Kyungsoo gasped.
The situation tensed and everyone were lost with their own thoughts, including Chanyeol. It seemed to have an effect on him to hear Kris’ statement and he stared into the car.
Baekhyun thought he really should probably go out and probably leave, but Chanyeol’s eyes never left him, as if he was watching him closely to prevent him from going away. Baekhyun felt like crying. Taking his phone, he dialed Chanyeol’s number once again. Chanyeol looked at his vibrating phone and shifted his glance back at Baekhyun who was in the car before picking up the phone.
“Yes,” Chanyeol breathed, his eyes were still on Baekhyun’s.
“Chanyeol-ssi,” Baekhyun whispered. “I’m-I’m sorry...”
“Its alright,” Chanyeol said. “Let’s go home.”
Kyungsoo watched every movement the older male made with confusion. He slowly came to acknowledge the reason why the older male had not been like his usual self lately.
Chanyeol scooted to the car but paused as he heard Kyungsoo said,
“The meals you bought the other day,” Kyungsoo quietly said. “Was it for him?”
Chanyeol said nothing as he got into the car. Within minutes, he drove away, leaving all of his friends behind.
***
The atmosphere was heavy when they had arrived at Chanyeol’s apartment.
Baekhyun immediately went to the bedroom while Chanyeol sat in the living room, eyes drifting to the pitter patter on the windowsill.
The taller male palmed his face in confusion. He remembered the look Kris had given him. It was neither accusing nor judging. Kris was giving him an understanding look. Like he literally had spoken out loud, I understand.
Chanyeol heard the thunder rumbling faintly outside and the rain became heavier. He stood up by instinct and went to his bedroom. Baekhyun disliked thunder. He probably needed someone by his side right now.
Baekhyun stood by the curtained window, hugging himself. Chanyeol noticed the male biting his lower lip and smiled in amusement. Baekhyun peered over at him as Chanyeol slowly pulled him closer to a hug.
“It’s nothing to be scared about,” Chanyeol whispered softly into his ear. “It’s just a thunder.”
“A scary thunder,” Baekhyun muttered timidly.
They stayed like that for a while with Chanyeol’s arms wrapped protectively around Baekhyun’s chest. It felt comfortable, and Baekhyun felt his face grew hotter because the taller male didn’t seem to realize the hug’s effect. Baekhyun felt safe.
“Chanyeol-ssi...?”
“Hm?”
“I’m sorry. About earlier.”
Chanyeol frowned and it dissipated as he realized what Baekhyun was talking about. “Oh. That. Why are you apologizing? You’ve done nothing wrong.”
“His face was scary... I was afraid you would get into a fight-a stupid fight just because-just because of me,” Baekhyun pressed his lips into a thin line. “I-I mean...”
You’re in love.
Kris’ words echoed in Chanyeol’s mind.
“I mean, you guys have been friends long before you even knew me,” Baekhyun continued. “It-it would be silly if you-“
Baekhyun was stopped by Chanyeol’s finger on his lips. He looked up and their gazes collide in an awkward moment. Chanyeol looked like he was thinking something serious and his eyes never left Baekhyun’s face. He held his breath as the taller male was only inches apart from him, leaning closer to...
Oh my God, is he going to...
...to kiss him.
It was a brief paradise the moment their lips touched. Baekhyun fluttered his eyes closed and suddenly the heart inside his ribcage threatened to explode. He gasped and broke the kiss as another thunder rolled somewhere far away, but Chanyeol caught his lips back and he soon forgot about it.
The kiss continued, neither of them wanting to be separated and Chanyeol guided Baekhyun softly to bed. Chanyeol’s hands were big and covered his small ones perfectly. Chanyeol’s tall feature towered over his short stature perfectly. Chanyeol’s lips brushed against his perfectly. It was all perfect, like they were meant to be. Like they were made for each other.
Soon their clothes were thrown off and Baekhyun tried to hide his embarassment by closing his eyes. Chanyeol’s touch on his skin was burning and addicting at the same time. He was completely unclothed while Chanyeol was still in his pants-Baekhyun only managed to tug on his shirt and the latter took it off by himself.
Chanyeol’s lips moved from his lips to other sites on his face. His kisses trailed along Baekhyun’s jaw, cheekbone and to his ear. Baekhyun moaned weakly at the sensitive spot as Chanyeol moved his kisses downward to his stomach and he kind of realized late where Chanyeol was aiming.
“Chan-ahh!”
Baekhyun flinched as he felt Chanyeol’s tongue around his manhood. Chanyeol took him completely in his mouth and Baekhyun felt his world was turned upside down. He let out a strangled sound to which he wasn’t even sure if it was him who made the strange sound. Chanyeol was pleasuring him, giving the head a long lick and sucking the length of his shaft. Baekhyun cried at the overwhelming sensation and felt incredibly embarassed at the same time. He didn’t want it to stop, but he kind of did too. He just wanted to hug Chanyeol closer and cry out in his arms.
His exasperate moan signaled Chanyeol that he was close to climax, and as if he had anticipated it, Chanyeol stopped sucking and crawled over Baekhyun, replacing his mouth with his hand. He licked his lips in attempt to wipe the taste away as Chanyeol claimed back Baekhyun’s lips. Baekhyun came a moment after, trembling in release with his face flushed and a muffled cry against Chanyeol’s lips.
Baekhyun was still trying to process what exactly had happened when Chanyeol straddled him onto his lap. The latter had unzipped his jeans and Baekhyun tried hard not to look down but into Chanyeol’s eyes instead.
“Baekhyun,” Chanyeol whispered and Baekhyun hummed as an answer.
Their lips met again in a slow motion. Chanyeol seemed to like to make the soft kissing soundeverytime their lips met and he could feel Baekhyun smiled into the kiss.
Baekhyun shivered as he felt Chanyeol inserted a finger into him, but their lips never broke contact. It was painful and Baekhyun almost screamed. Chanyeol’s lips never left his, as if to calm him down and tell him that it was going to be alright. Another finger was inserted and Baekhyun whimpered against Chanyeol’s lips, but still, their lips were glued tightly. When the third finger was shoved into his, Baekhyun gasped and broke the kiss, wincing in pain, his breathing was ragged, clutching dearly to the taller male.
Chanyeol whispered words sweetly against his lips to ease the pain.
But he was scared.
Baekhyun’s thoughts flew to all of the sex experiences he had read in the magazines and suddenly he felt stupid. He was the virgin, afterall, and all the stories were probably made up. It was real, what they were doing was real. What if he suddenly hurt Chanyeol, or what they were about to do would end up bad because he had no experience whatsoever?
It was Chanyeol who brought him back to reality as Baekhyun was suddenly laid on his back with the former on top of him.
Baekhyun’s fear was clearly shown as Chanyeol replaced his fingers with himself and he cried.
It hurt a lot. It was so painful, would it be alright if Baekhyun screamed?
Chanyeol moved his hip slowly and Baekhyun cried again. After a few thrusts, Baekhyun felt himself caught up with the pace and finally gave in. Chanyeol rocked into him gently, not too rough and not too fast either. When he finally hit the sweet spot inside of Baekhyun, the latter started to become a moaning mess, and Chanyeol quickened his movement.
“Baekhyun.”
Baekhyun reached out for anything-anything, might it be pillows or sheets, just something to hold on to but then it was Chanyeol’s hand that he caught.
Chanyeol gripped his hand tightly, with his fingers wrapped around Baekhyun’s tiny wrist and his thumb was pressed against his palm.
Their lips were probably bruised due to the excessive amounts of kisses, but neither of them cared. In fact, Baekhyun loved the fact that Chanyeol still kissed him the whole way. He felt like he was protected, like what they were doing was not merely for pleasure and that Chanyeol really cared about him. And the moments where Chanyeol just whispered his name, they were...they were priceless. Baekhyun wouldn’t want anything else beside his name being said by the person he loved.
The person he loved.
Chanyeol climaxed first and Baekhyun followed soon after, crying Chanyeol’s name like it was some sort of mantra.
Baekhyun laid weakly on the bed, trembling in release for the second time while closing his eyes. Chanyeol’s lips were on his shoulder, waiting for him to be done while burying his head on the crook of Baekhyun’s head.
Chanyeol didn’t untangle himself off of Baekhyun, instead he pulled the latter closer. He didn’t care about the fact that they were a mess and fluids were everywhere. He held Baekhyun tightly and shared a passionate kiss, their hands intertwined together.
“I...”
Baekhyun stared at Chanyeol hopefully as he touched the latter’s cheek. Hoping for him to let him stay. Hoping for him to tell him he had feelings for him. Hoping for him to would hold him tight forever.
“I think...you should go home.”
It was painful to hear those words coming out of Chanyeol’s mouth.
But Chanyeol was serious.
Baekhyun looked away and he slowly nodded. Tears were threatening to fall as he snuggled even closer to Chanyeol-if it was even possible because they were pressed tightly against each other.
“But until that time comes, stay in my arms.”
How soon is that time?
Baekhyun couldn’t slip the question out as he just once again, nodded and sobbed quietly.
He heard the thunder rolled pretty loud this time, but strange enough, he didn’t feel scare at all in Chanyeol’s arms.
The rain refused to stop as it got even heavier.
***
The journey to Baekhyun’s house was painfully silent.
Chanyeol waited for him patiently to get dressed that morning. Baekhyun had taken a really long shower, and Chanyeol had to knock for a few times to make sure that he was okay inside.
Baekhyun was clad in Chanyeol’s shirt and dark jeans, because the only clothes he had was the wedding tuxedo which was trashed away somewhere. He refused to eat the breakfast Chanyeol had made him and refused to say anything. Chanyeol finally gave up and pulled the shorter male into his arms, and a second later Baekhyun started crying.
He cried helplessly about everything. About the fact that he didn’t want to get married. That he didn’t want to go back to his family. That, what if, his family had set up another arranged marriage again and Chanyeol wasn’t there to rescue him?
But Chanyeol didn’t budge. He let the male cried his heart out in his arms, and when Baekhyun was done, he pecked his forehead, and told him that it was time to go.
It hurt, like a knife had been stabbed into his heart.
Baekhyun thought that Chanyeol didn’t love him anymore. He thought he didn’t care anymore. They might have not spend their times together that long, but he thought there was something between them. Baekhyun thought Chanyeol felt something for him but now he was not so sure anymore...
Chanyeol let Baekhyun held onto his arm the whole trip.
When they finally arrived at Baekhyun’s house, it was when Baekhyun really started crumbling down. He clung tightly to his seat and Chanyeol had to half dragged him to get off of the car.
He begged for Chanyeol to stop, but the latter just kept on walking straight, ignoring his protests.
“Please,” Baekhyun wept. “Please...don’t do this to me. Please, if you really care about me...”
Chanyeol didn’t say anything.
Baekhyun gasped loudly as his parents were already outside the house, waiting for them, and Chanyeol’s grip on him was tight. He tried to fight, but there was no use. Chanyeol was definitely stronger at the moment. Baekhyun sobbed sadly and his shoulders were shaking. When they were close enough, Chanyeol stopped walking. Baekhyun avoided his parents’ gazes and refused to look at them even when Chanyeol had detached him from his arm, giving him a slight push forward toward them.
“Baekhyunnie,” he heard his mother whispered caringly and leaned forward to hug him. He could feel her tears on her cheeks. “We’re sorry.”
Baekhyun buried his face in his hands as he shook his head. He couldn’t say anything.
“Thank you,” Baekhyun’s father told Chanyeol and his tone was grateful. “Thank you.”
Baekhyun had completely lost his strength and he almost dropped to his knees hearing the gratitude. Luckily his father caught him in time. Baekhyun didn’t want this. This wasn’t supposed to happen. He didn’t want to get separated from Chanyeol. Baekhyun mustered all of his courage to open his mouth. He needed to say it. All this time, he had been quiet with his parents, obeying everything they asked him to. This time, he had to be brave.
He was in love with Park Chanyeol and he needed to say it.
“Baekhyun-ah,” his father spoke all of a sudden. “Listen to me.”
Baekhyun pulled himself together and stood up to face his father. He looked at him tiredly.
“This man, Chanyeol, had promised us to bring you back safely,” he continued.
Baekhyun whimpered sadly.
“Under one condition. He wished to marry you in return.”
Baekhyun opened his mouth to say something but quickly stopped as he realized what his father had just said.
“I couldn’t say yes,” his father wiped Baekhyun’s tears away with both of his hands. “I told him it was up to you. I don’t want you to feel burdened anymore. You’re free to choose, son. You can marry whoever you like.”
Baekhyun turned his head to stare at Chanyeol, eyes widened in surprise. “Ch-Chanyeol-ssi-“
Chanyeol returned his stare solemnly and nodded.
Baekhyun’s heart was fluttered in happiness as he brought his hand to his mouth, still shaking. “Chanyeol-ssi-“
“I love you, Byun Baekhyun,” Chanyeol offered his hand to the male. “Will you marry me?”
End.
“Why were you being so cruel?”
Chanyeol looked up from his desk. When he announced the good news to his friends, they were all very happy for him (“So something good really happened out of this,” Kyungsoo said in relief). Kris then decided to take over the job for his wedding and the others agreed because it was Chanyeol’s special day and he needed to just relax and leave everything to them. He was going to need a replacement too if he was going on a honeymoon after the wedding anyway. So Chanyeol finally gave in after repeating his mantra of the bride can’t run away this time ten times and Kyungsoo rolled his eyes.
“Cruel...?”
“You know,” Baekhyun sat on his desk facing him and ran his fingers slowly on Chanyeol’s arms. “I thought you really didn’t care about me anymore. Dragging me all the way back to my parents’ house...”
“It was the only way so I could have your dad’s approval.”
“You could have told me instead...”
“I needed to make sure,” Chanyeol said and Baekhyun frowned. “I needed to make sure if you really feel the same for me. And I almost couldn’t stand it when you wouldn’t even look at me anymore.”
Baekhyun sighed and shrieked in surprise as Chanyeol suddenly tugged him forward and he fell onto the taller male’s lap. He wrapped his arms around Chanyeol’s neck on instinct.
“You should be ready,” Chanyeol warned seriously. “All of the windows are gonna be locked. No chance of escaping.”
Baekhyun’s lips curved into a smile. A really, really relieved smile. “Even if they’re not, please don’t ever let me go...”
“Never,” Chanyeol whispered and brushed their lips together. “Never.”
