Eeeee! So, um, I think I'm going to London for a week in early March. :-)
LJS mentioned a play opening in London recently and it reminded me that come March 8th, it'll have been 2 whole years since my last visit. So I just had a little peek at fares and such. For some reason it would cost me around $2000 to fly Lansing-Chicago-London return, but if I find my own way out of Lansing, fares are under $400. Totally bizarre, but what can you do?
So tentatively, I'm flying in to Boston on March 2nd, spending Friday at MIT, then heading on to London on Saturday the 4th (or maybe the night of the 3rd - haven't got that far yet). I think I'll come back to Boston on Thursday the 9th (there's a class on Friday mornings at MIT I really want to sit in on - I know that's lame, but I can't help it). Only 5 days in London isn't really enough, but on the other hand, only 5 nights of hotel acc to pay means I'll actually have a few pennies left to eat and drink and shop and such.
So, um, yeah. I'll mull it over for a day or so, but I think I'll go for it. Never mind that between now and April 11th, I'm also scheduled to visit Philly, NYC & SFC for 3 or 4 days apiece. Travel is good for you, right?
Speaking of SF - thanks for the lovely postcard, Jo! I *am* still coming to visit, promise. *squish*
