Ahh, but who will prepare you for a visit to ME?!

omg, a brand new washing machine?! That's the coolest thing ever, I am so excited for you. Woot. Man, I need to call my management company :p

I CAN NOT WAIT TO WATCH DR WHO! And yet I must wait, possibly as long as two weeks!!

Ohhh! If I haven't seen it by the time you come visit me (three weeks!), can you bring it? Then we can watch it together. Although with any luck whatsoever, I will not be sans computer THAT long.

Oh gosh! It didn't even occur to me that you can not download anything while your motherboard is awol. That is tragic!

I will totally bring it with me since it now has a permanent place on my harddrive. But I hope you get your computer functioning well before then.

I *love* my new washing machine, Bo. It is so shiny and clean and new. *beams*

(I don't think anything could ever prepare me for a visit to you, cuteness)

Awwww *luffs*

Not being able to download shows (OR to be able to answer the question immediately of "where do I know this actor from?") is the hardest thing about no motherboard!

The REAL kicker is going to be this coming weekend - the first weekend where I'm not full of other plans or going out of town or something. BUT Dandelion is shipping RIGHT NOW so maybe I'll just watch it fifty times :P And go to Brokeback Mountain, for it is FINALLY open in KC!

Oh, hurrah! I'm so glad BM is finally open. I bet it'll be here this weekend or soon as well. I am going again as soon as I can. Although I've now rewatched the movie so many times inside my head I almost don't need to. :-)

Do you have dvds to watch and books to read to keep you busy sans computer?

I know! I was starting to think it never WOULD - it was open over christmas in st louis but not to any theater nearish my mom's and of course I had no TIME.

So definitely this weekend for me. Possibly I'll see King Kong as well, just because I've heard lots of praise for it.

And I do! I still have Speciman Days to read and Fod and I listened to some Wodehouse short stories on the way back from Kovsky's, which has left me with a craving to reread some more of him. And somebody, ohhh, who could it be, sent me Spooks and Calcium Kid and stuff to watch *hops* And this is the FIRST WEEKEND I am free since I got them! So I think they are at the top of my agenda.

Oh, right! Yes. I forgot about those. Hee. Calcium Kid is most adorable thing ever. And Billy Piper is in it, so it's extra squeeworthy.

You have Wodehouse audibooks?!? Who is the reader? I would love to hear those.

*snuggles*

I get them from auidible.com - which is very expensive if you buy individual books but cheap (like ten dollars a book) if you do a subscription plan. And then you can listen to them straight or download them to your ipod or other mp3 player (like I do) or burn them to a cd! (although the one thing i do not like is their DRM means VERY limited burns - but unlimited downloads to an ipod).

They are really awesome to listen to things like Wodehouse on, though, for long drives. Wodehouse, history and young adult books (particularly those I've read before) are my favorite things to listen to.

They let you listen snippets ahead of time, too, which is important because some readers are fabulous and some of them get rapidly annoying. I love the Wodehouse readers I've listened to, though.

I USED to have some wodehouse on tape, years ago, but I have no idea where it is now!

I don't have an mp3 player though - and I have no interest in owning one. I *hate* ear plugs and head phones of every description. And I've never liked the idea of portable listening devices. There's already so much noise in the world, I've never understood the appeal of bringing your own along with you.

But I'll check it out for my mum - she needs to get into audiobooks to stop putting strain on her wrists by reading so much. And she does want to get a portable mp3 player.

Hee, and I'll also listen to them on my computer when I'm playing WoW, instead of listening to music. I use it to shut out the rest of the world! :p

But do, she might really like it. And since it's all downloadable, the different country thing won't even get in the way.
