so went on my first business trip yesterday. We got to fly on the FAA's private jet from Reagan Airport, which looks just like the presidents plane with the words "United States of America" but in the form of a Citation Excel. It was awesome!!! i have never flown in a private jet and sitting in the cabin all i could think was...how did i get here? how does a kid like me get here? well we arrived at Port Columbus in Ohio and got a tour of the airport (not once did i have to go through any type of security). We got to go out to the tarmak and get the VIP tour. then we had a meeting with the Columbus airport authority. After that we were taken to meet with the heads of NetJets, a private jet company for the rich folk of the world. They gave us yummy lunch and we had our meeting. Then they told us that we were going to have a look at their hangar but not too long because the American Idols were there. They are affiliated with a company called Marquise that has the contract to fly the American Idols around for their tour and they had just had a concert in Columbus the night before. So they were at the company for a "meet and greet" with employees. When we got to the hangar the American Idols were coming out for a press conference thing. I dont watch American Idol so if it wasnt for a poster on one of the walls I wouldnt even have known what they looked like. We left the hangar and continued on our tour of the facilities. They took us to their command center and half way through in come the American Idols. The only one i recognized was that one main one David Cook i think, because his face was plastered on the news for the longest time. I dont know any other one but there was one guy with long locks of hair or something (i sound like Creed describing this). Well we were litterally like 10 feet away from them as they were touring too. Im sure some other people would have been freaking out, but i dont really know who they are or anything. i saw a picture of bill gates and warren buffet (he owns Netjets) and all i could think was...man i wish bill gates was taking the tour too! i would love to meet him! Sadly i dont know when i will be on a jet like that again, but its an experience. I just cant believe they paid me to do all this. And according to the Netjets people, they cater to millionares and billionares...and im neither.
