Patrol Three

[Day]
[Action A: Walking through the streets of Mayfield, you may spot Olivier, sun glinting off the hilt of the sword at her side, the front of her dress soiled with dirt from the tray of daisies she carries.]

[Action B: Again walking through Mayfield, but this time in a clean dress, with a sewing mannequin under one arm and a bag full of fabric ( Read more... )

[Hawkeye wouldn't call herself paranoid. She'd call herself vigilant. Which is why, when she cut through the park on her way to work to catch some fresh air, at the sound of all-out confrontation taking place she carefully drew her weapon and approaches the thicket of trees. She moved silently, clicking off the safety of her weapon and slid through the branches, and only barely caught herself. Her eyes widened as she saw Armstrong beating up a mannequin, but she doesn't move to lower her gun.

Maybe a teensy bit paranoid, ok.]

General Armstrong?

[Olivier stops mid-kick and whirls around, fists curled and held high. She raises a brow at Riza's drawn gun.]

You're more than welcome to join me in training, Hawkeye, but no putting holes in my punching bag.

[It takes a moment, but she lowers the weapon, frowning.]

If you'd like to not be assaulted you may not want to hide quite so much.

Olivier doesn't make sense here...defensive much? flowers_suck August 30 2011, 07:08:49 UTC
[She lowers her hands to her side. She realizes that Riza is in her uniform. Evidently, she had lost track of time.]

I'm not in hiding, I'm just not out in the open. [She represses a cringe at her own lack of logic. She just hadn't wanted any gawkers, not yet at least, nor had she wanted to wake up her house by using the back yard. Not to mention, she might be slightly hungover and doesn't want to deal with strangers atm.]

[Is something wrong? Did she miss something?]

I believe those are mostly the same thing, ma'am.

yeah, she knows that Hawkeye... flowers_suck August 30 2011, 16:15:28 UTC
[She shrugs.]

Mostly being the key word there, Hawkeye.

[ooc: If she presses, she might actually get a reason out of her...]

[This is the face of suspicion and disbelief, General.]

Really?

[She frowns, she hadn't really expected Riza to believe her, but she hadn't expected her to question it either.]

Yes, really. If I were hiding you wouldn't have been able to find me. Where as just not being out in the open means I don't care if people see me, I just don't want every drone or non drone out there gawking.

[She's scowling, because ,really, she was hiding.]

Don't underestimate my ability to locate you, General.

[If Armstrong is allowed to question what she does, Hawkeye reserves the right to do just the same.]

Why were you really practicing behind the bushes? The drones pay no mind to people in the park, and I told you that when you first arrived.

[Another sigh, she knows Riza isn't going to drop the subject, but she knows she can trust her.]

You remember the dolls, right? I can only imagine that someday these drones will all turn on us like those drones. So I prefer not to be around masses of them when they walk to work in the morning.

[She nods slowly. No harm in admitting Olivier her concerns.]

Well, you will be prepared with your sword ma'am.

[Her pistol did nothing against the dolls, something she tried not to think too hard about.]

Though the theory I've heard about the drones in town doesn't quite line up with the concern that the drones will turn on us. However...anything is possible here.

[She didn't care what the theory was, it was still a possibility.]

We should probably be more worried about our fellow prisoners, too.

The drones here are the bodies of people who have been here in the past, ma'am. There's been discussion that their souls are what power the town, allowing it to be an endless loop and to bring us here without any struggle.

Lan Fan can't confirm or deny this, and she's currently the only one here who could. She could sense the souls of the Philosopher's stone, but she doesn't have the ability to sense that here. When it returns, she may be able to help.

[Hawkeye sighs.]

A surprisingly large number of people here can defend themselves when push comes to shove, but I would be worried if it were to be attacks from skilled assailants..

If it is there souls, then Mayfield wouldn't care about there bodies, especially since they don't seem to feel pain. And if the drones respawn, then their army is quite large.

And yes, skilled assailants would be far more worrisome.

It's not uncommon to find the droned body of someone who has been here before. And I believe the care for the bodies might simply be because people do sometimes return, as with yourself..

[Riza shrugs slightly.] Unfortunately, all of this is theory. And despite it being interesting, it doesn't solve any of our problems here.

[Olivier represses a cringe, she really didn't like remembering that.]

Theory really does us no good. And I doubt they'll be any solid evidence to back up most theories.
