So, first two days of school down. Now a long weekend. It really seems pointless to start school when they do . . .
Classes I'm taking:
English 4
Health (Stupid required course)
Philosophy
Sociology
Portuguese 3
Lunch
Forensics
Political Science
I know people in all of my classes this year. ALL of them! This never happens =] Usually I'm lucky if I have friends in even one but I have multiple friends in every one. I am in love with this schedule.
English class with Nick. I hope we actually learn something this year . . . The teacher is a new guy, he replaced the teacher I had last year. Mr McQuade was awesome by the way. So, no matter what this new guy does, he will pale in comparison. I'm sure he's a decent guy, he's just not awesome
Health . . boring . . required . . one of those classes that are full of lower class men who you don't know and you sit there doing nothing . . .bleh.
Philosophy. This seems like it'll be very fun. It is a small class, unless they end up adding more people which is very likely. The course is being offered for the first time this year so we have new books, materials, teacher. Everything is shiney and new (haha, bald teacher = shiney). I got to unwrap the books and write the numbers on them, woo. All we really talked about the first day was what we had for dinner, how to cook fish in the dishwasher, tv shows, and other stuff completely unrelated to the course. No one is starting course work yet, like I said, the first two days are pointless. The teacher seems cool.
Sociology. Not sure about this class yet. There are about 30 students, all but two are female. The estrogen level is way too high in here, haha. A little more than half of them are the rich snooty type. Only rich snooty white girls are interested in sociology apparently? With a few exceptions. Most of the students who aren't rich and snooty are still white girls . . lol. It's just shocking to walk into a class and see so many white girls, especially in my school.
Portuguese 3, same old same old. But there is a particularly rude junior boy in here who is now convinced I'm a satanist. Oh well. I tried explaining to him, but I suppose having some wrestler 3x my size terrified of me could be amusing. This is a subject that often requires you to amuse yourself because the teacher never teaches. 3 years of Portuguese we never learn anything new. heh. Vail is there. So she will be fun to talk to. Mr. De Carvalho made a "deal" with me the second day. I will start with a 90 in the class and for every English word I use while talking to him I lose one point from my final grade . . .hah. And . . I accepted . . oh boy. My Pepere started speaking to me in fluent Portuguese this morning during breakfast when I told him. And then I realized I'm completely screwed =]
Lunch. Haven't eaten in the cafe yet, lol. I have a feeling all this year I'll be sneaking downtown with my Ianna for lunch. Will be a good year. This whole being a senior thing already feels MUCH more relaxed. It's way too hot to eat outside right now though.
Forensics. So far, surprisingly, most boring. Everyone is extremely quiet in this class always so you get the feeling that you have to whisper, or the sky will fall. I've just now heard bad things about the teacher (just that he is boring and monotone, and easily walked over, he doesn't seem mean at all) But last year my biology teacher told me I'd really enjoy the class and the teacher . . . so we'll see. Old students seem to visit him a lot so maybe he is nice. The girl who said all these bad things about him is, admittedly, a pretty big bitch anyway (pardon my language) Made a new friend who is also in my political Science class after this one! I haven't decided yet if he is creepy, or just really friendly.
Political Science, last class of the day. I hate to say it, but the teacher comes off as not knowing much about the subject she is teaching on the first day. I sit with three people in this class. The afore mentioned new friend, Kelsey, and an acquaintance who isn't really important enough to mention. The students seem a bit unruly in here . . . lots of stupid guys, if that makes sense to you. You know, the typical obnoxious high school guy when you think of . . high school athletes who take too much drugs? Also, my LEAST FAVORITE person in the whole wide world is here (I'd use the word hate, but I try not to hate people, so I will just express my extreme dislike of him) I didn't notice he was there until almost the end of the first day though . . he sits in the back corner and hasn't said anything at all so hopefully he'll stay there and keep to himself so I don't have to ever notice him being there, heh. At least it's the last class of the day . . .
Today was the first day of my 4 day vacation. Went to the beach with my Dad today. It was a beach that people aren't allowed to swim at (too much current) and it was windy today so not too many people besides fishers and gulls. Except this one obnoxious, loud, unruly child who obviously wasn't from around here because she was running through the water SCREEEAAMMING. She had a very distinctive voice also. I was meditating until she got there, haha. But I simply couldn't. Then eventually a life guard (I think it was a life guard, my eyes were closed) came by and told her father that it was too dangerous to swim so . . . she was a bit quieter after that . . just a bit. We laid in the sand for about an hour, I meditated, my father slept. I got really tan, he snored loudly and remained sheet white.
Then we went to Newbury Port and visited a few little shops but had to hurry home for a doctors appointment so we rushed. Got some stones and wicked cool candle holder. Then we got a phone call and found out that the house my parents had been bidding on forever was ours. Woooo. Inspection tomorrow morning. Was happy all day because I have a HOUSE =D Yes. Got yummy pizza and onion rings and rushed home.
Horrible horrible doctors appointment. If you've ever been checked for allergies and reacted to EVERYTHING you'd understand. I already knew I was allergic to everything but they wanted to see if anything changed in 7 years. Built up a resistance but, still allergic to everything on the face of the earth. Felt ill the rest of the day.
When I told my friend about my new "business" I realized what a hippie I am making money off of home made clothing like this . . . and we decided the only way I could be more of a hippie is if I came in one day and said "Hey, check out this cool poem! I traded it for a scarf. I also got this flower =D" Which seems like a totally likely situation for me . . . heh heh heh. Well damn, that flower's not going to pay for college.
