"A Million Little Pieces"

Hey just needed space to rant...this was my posting for Oprah!

I am so sickened with what is happening. How dare Oprah go off the way she did and be so rude to a human being. She brought James Frey on her show to give him a chance to speak the truth but she consistently cut him off and was rude towards him. Having journalists on saying how awful this situation is was a great way to gain the public's interest. Why not have individuals who were truly touched by this and see what they had to say. The public deserves to hear two sides of the story and why Oprah may have attempted to show both sides, one was much stronger than the other. I understand that parts of his "Memoir" may have been fabricated but lets face it, everyone tells a lie here and there and that does not make us any less of human beings. James told the story from how he not only remembered it, but how it felt it. Who are we to question how things happened in his mind. Everyone experiences things differently and whether James' story happened as he said it did, it was what was true to him. Who really cares how long he spent in jail or whether he had Novocaine. That was not the point of the book. The fact is that this is a TRUE story about addiction. The feelings you got from reading this book are real and they should remain real. For me it wasn't how Lilly killed herself it was the fact that she died and how decastating that is for someone to deal with, especially someone with addictions. This book touched me in many ways and it will continue to do so. Yes some things may not be real, but James is real, and his words will continue to be with me everyday.
