The tour is going great guns. The day before last we caught the over night train from Hanoi to Hue. The train was first class so we got to lie down instead of having to sleep sitting up. Don't get me wrong though Vietnamese first class is nothing like Western but everyone was more than happy because we all expected we would be sitting. We had mini parties in the cabins and had a laugh.

I think my favourite story of the night was when we were sitting in a cabin with Duy (our tour leader not spelt Huey..oops) and the drink & snack cart lady came around and one of the girls goes "oooo corn nuts yum" and the cart girl got really shy and ran off. Duy goes "you can't say that, is bad word" and the girl said "what, yum!?" and he said "yeah, it means horny". It was a good thing to learn because now we know why people here look at us funny when we accidentally say it.

The train was amazing, to see the country side at both night and when we woke up in the morning, it's really an amazing country. The sleeping was very comfortable expect for when it stopped suddenly and you nearlly got flung from your bed.

Yesterday we arrived in Hue, the ancient capital of Vietnam. It is a beautiful place, a lot quieter and smaller than Hanoi so it's a really great change. Yesterday we went by dragon boat down the river to a few temples and pagodas then we hopped on the back of motorbikes and rode to the citadel, to a female monistary to have a wonderful vegetarian lunch, a beautiful garden and many other places. It was a real thrill spending the afternoon on motorbikes.

We all went out for dinner then most of us went out for a few drinks at a place called Brown Eyes (yes I know unfortunate name) which was perhaps the funkiest bar/club I have ever seen, it sort of had a theatre resteraunt style decor with an amazing beer garden on the edge of the river, with fantastic lighting and atmosphere. The best thing is the cocktails were only about $2, I am going to get back to Australia and refuse to pay $15 for one hehe. They seem to be obsessed with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers here so they pretty much played that ALL night. Little bit annoying.

Today we hop on a bus to Hoi An where apparently they make the best and cheapest tailored clothes in South East Asia. I wasn't going to get anything made until I learnt that they make shoes so I might have to sus that out.
