(no subject)
This past 14th of feburary was the first cake day I missed since the birth of cake day in 2003. What a wonderful day it was to celebrate gorging ourselves on wonderful dutch bakery treats and whole heart shaped cakes and dollar pizza. The glorious ache that would instill at the end of the day and remorse of indulgence the next day yet an underlying satisfaction of another successful cake day apart from the googley-eyed couples all celebrating their chocolates, flowers and hearts all together.
This year I spent the whole day helping prepare and set up for a valentine's event at our church that was a youth fundraiser. I don't really consider peeling potatos and my thumb overly romantic. Although it was pretty fun seeing Darron all dressed up in his "auctioneer" uniform to auction off the cakes that had been made for the event! It's pretty cool to see people bidding on a four layer chocolate cake for over a hundred dollars and the Last two pieces of a previously sold apple pie auctioned off at $200!! Praise the Lord for the generosity of people! Let them eat Cake!!
