I cannot believe the character assassination they did to Betty. She's always been one of my favorites on the show and I am always game for any changes but Weiner was actively removing every trait that made her sympathetic whilst Don was allowed to grown and improve. How is that fair?
Oh god YES! I should have expected this the way she rushed to marry Henry last season (though, unlike most, I have always liked him) but she got it so bad this season. There were bright spots in her characterization but, all in all, it was a mess.
I'm totally creeping but I just finished and I am so heartbroken about what they did to Betty. I mean, a large part of me tried to ignore it because I've been so used to defending her and loving her but just...blah.
IDK after The Suitcase the season in general has been kind of disappointing, or what ever. AND I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE LIKE, ALMOST EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED. I NEED TO REALLY PROCESS MY THOUGHTS.
I understand slightly want they have been trying to do with her characterization-she's emotionally still a child-but I think it was poorly executed. It could've been done better without reducing her into an one-note character. She still had her moments. I loved her since with Don at the end. It was extremely mature and I was honestly expecting the worse but IDK IDK. :|
Yeah, I loved Betty at the end of the episode for Gene's birthday party and the finale. I really hope they keep up that kind of relationship with each other. It honestly kind of made my heart hurt with the what-could-have-been with those two.
I mean, I really, really hated the way she lashed out at Carla like that because it was a bit much but I do understand her resentment for Glenn. I JUST NEED TIME TO GATHER UP MY THOUGHTS I'M STILL LIKE "OMG THIS REALLY HAPPENED."
Btw, I was dying how Roger was like "WHO THE HELL IS SHE" and Pete was like "OH REALLY?" lmao I loved Pete so fucking much this season.
