[By Retsu's bed--in a very unnatural state of disarray--is a pile of letters addressed to various people. Included in the pile are letters to Jan, Saki and a few others.
Also with the letters is an opened one to Retsu from Shafu. It talks about how they have so many students that they need Retsu back to teach and talks about a special technique that will bring him home.
...the part that actually describes the special technique seems to have morphed into some other language. Is that Cuneiform?]
