Status Report [open!]

After talking with his mother, Florence has been spending more time out and about the Mansion. He'll talk to anyone who notices him -- small, serious, soft-spoken young man that he is -- and he spends some time lending a hand with the hunting-and-gathering; but mostly he watches, and doesn't head back home to the Orkney cottage until sunset.

"You're here, lad?"

"Ay, sir." A quick, open smile.

Gaheris laughs, a short little surprised laugh. "God, you look like your mother."

[floweredknight]

Florence laughs, too. "I thank you."

[littlebetter]

"You're well? How long have you been here?"

[floweredknight]

"Oh, I know not-- six weeks? How do you, uncle?"

[littlebetter]

"Well," nodding slightly, as if he's agreeing with himself. "I live with your cousin Morvydd--your mother'll have told you that."

[floweredknight]

"Ay, sir." Another, slightly shy smile.

Truthfully he kind of wants to hug Gaheris, as that is what you do with relatives, but he's not entirely sure how well it would go over.

Gaheris doesn't miss the smile, and he takes a moment to steel himself and then offers his arms--a subtle little gesture, not a wide opportunity of a big hug, more of a proferring of his hands.

Florence steps forward to take them, a quick squeeze. "It's good to see you."

[littlebetter]

"And you, boy."

[floweredknight]

He smiles, that quick smile with something in it of Gawain's sweetness and something of Ragnelle's teasing, and lets go again. "How is Morvydd?"

[littlebetter]

"--She's well. She has her troubles: I win at all the table games."

...he made a joke giez.

[floweredknight]

And Florence laughs. "Ay, that is a trouble. Do you never have pity on her?"

[littlebetter]

"Not often. She gets her revenge other times."

[floweredknight]

He grins. "I have no doubt."
