in the movie Dead Man Walking, a line reads "every person is better than their worst act"
the death penalty. in the past i know i have heard myseld say "an eye for an eye," if you are going to kill then i why do you deserve to live. is that what i believe?
"we are supposed to live in a civalized society." say the protestors, the marchers, the people.
"turn in your weapons in tribute to a legacy." a legacy of...please explain your notion.
the most controversial execution in my life time.
an officer stated, "let's give more credit to the Los Angeles police department. we understand who is killing our neighborhood and tookie williams is the poster boy for them all."
on death row -- the founder of the crips gang, and responsible for the murder of 4 people in 2 different incidents...now "co-authoring books and beginning programs to prevent youth from joining gangs. he remained firm and refused "to aid police investigations with any information against his gang."
my mind spins like the ball in roulette, hitting little pegs of knowledge along the way. anyone is capable of a hanous act? ethics. what are my ethics? what do i believe? it's one of those things that i wish i didn't have to think about...
