[His ears perked up for a quick second before folding back down a bit. There wasn't any trace of anger or disappointment on his face. His smile softened as did his voice.]

I know it didn't work out this time, but at least I know you're safe and okay, and we can always try again! I'm gonna do what it takes to get everyone who wants to go home back home.
