Right now the wind is blowing so hard that it really just sounds like someone is shaking a piece of posterboard to try and make sound effects. It's pretty ridiculous, actually. But guess what, I'm going to Florida in 2 weeks and it's going to be warm and sunny and wonderful so I don't really give a shit.
The reason I haven't written here in a while is because I feel like all I write about is the cool things I do, and I feel like that's pretty obnoxious. Dave, however, says that's not all I write about.. and I guess he's more or less right. So here I am, back on LJ, procrastinating like usual.
Emily recently started writing a blog which is really entertaining and a good time to read. Unfortunately her psychotic ex-boyfriend has taken to posting false, disgusting comments on it about their relationship and whatnot, but that does not detract from it's quality.
Now here's the time when I do get to write about cool things I've been doing. This semester has been truly amazing so far. We had a party for Shira's birthday with margaritas and Mexican food. The other night we had a dance party with delicious drinks and lots of 80's music. I've seen Emily and Becca twice, and also many other friends at the A.P. concert in New Bruns last week. Dave and I saw Phantom of the Opera on Valentine's Day, and he gave me the cutest gift EVER (so cute, in fact, that I almost melted). Speaking of melting, I also saw Wicked, which I thought was kind-of uninspired, but enjoyed watching. I get along with my suitemates really well and we've become good friends. This is a wonderful thing and I am so happy to be living with them again next year (at least, those of them who aren't going to Africa.) Yes, we found out where we're living, it's a beautiful suite (for Barnard housing) in a great location... and I get a single. So hot.
As the days go by I get more and more excited for spring in the city. There's nothing quite like it - life just comes back into everything and everyone. People sit out on the sidewalks at restaurants, and families and kids and dogs lounge and run around in the parks. I've never been here for summer, but I'm looking forward to it as well. I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing, but I know I'm staying here. If anyone knows someone who wants to sublet his/her apartment/room (preferably on the Upper West Side), put them in touch with me.
Finally, because I was tagged, here's this..
I am listing the five most effective things to bribe me with. If you get tagged, your mission is to do the same, then tag 5 more people. These are not in order and assuming I could be bribed.
1) massages
2) delicious chocolate cake
3) a puppy
4) an amazingly comfortable bed
5) gift certificates to Bed, Bath & Beyond or Ikea
Now the fun part:
