First of all, merry Christmas everyone!
I spent Christmas with my father's family this year. It was a bit tough for me, because I have 2 stepbrothers, and they're very young (one's 5, the other is 1 and a half)... which means lots of running around, screaming, crying, etc. I'm definitely not good with children, and while the youngest is easy and fun to entertain (he's always smiling and everything amuses him), the other is harder to play with, since he wants long playing sessions and wants you to do what he says. I was just as annoying when I was little, but I still don't like playing with children like that, haha.
I got to play a lot with the animals, though. Igor, the akita inu my parents got has grown so much since I last saw him, he's a big pup now! Very calm and friendly, although kinda jealous of the cats, you can tell he wants all the attention for him. Grouchat is still around and a bit friendlier than before. Pissarro also stuck around, he's slowly growing but he's so cute! I'm a bit worried about him though, he's too kind and when Igor wants to play with him a bit too hard (since he plays with Pissa as if it were another dog), he just meows but doesn't move or try to escape! I hope he'll grow up to be a bit tougher.
What I'm happiest about is that I found an old book I was looking for. It's called Yan Bibiyan (Ян Бибиян in cyrillic), a folk tale written by the Bulgarian writer Elin Pelin. I grew up with this story, and the illustrations are beautiful. The story is about Yan, a dirty and mean kid who always does evil deeds, steals and hurts other people. One day, he meets Fyut, an imp who teases him. Yan, being mean as usual, rips Fyut's tail off, which angers the demon king and sends Yan to hell. The story is so funny and touching, filled with beautiful monsters and creatures (a small boy made of clay whose head falls off, tiny pixies with 4 eyes, a beautiful fairy that can grant wish...), and I made my mother read it to me all the time! I had been looking for this book for years now, I'm so glad I got it back.
While I get along well with my stepmother and dad now, I learnt a few things about my grandmother that made me really angry. When she left the house, she wanted to kill the cats that were there, so that she "leaves nothing behind". I still can't believe someone could think something awful like this! Mew and Indy both disappeared one day apart one from the other, so we'll never know what really happened... I know Mew was really old, but Indy... How the hell... I still can't believe it and hope it's not true. This terrifies me and I could never forgive my grandmother if, God forbid, it's true. I never got to play with Indy a lot, but Mew was my best friend and his death hit me really hard, so if it wasn't natural, I'll never be at peace about it.
That's mostly it for Christmas stuff. For now I'm on break from school, and haven't started to do anything homework related.... ha...... ha.......... ha............... *falls on the ground*
