Now that I finally have the leisure to do so, I've started to clean completely my appartment. I'm taking a short break right now (so writing this entry is a nice way to do it), but I'll also be taking another, longer one starting tomorrow until next Wednesday! I'm going to Nantes to see
lilia_pupurea, which will be a very rewarding vacation after the school year, I think. And when I get home, I'll probably finish cleaning and maybe go visit my parents or something, I'll see.
My apartment was in a catastrophic state because when something takes all of my time, it takes all of it. Which means I hadn't thrown my trash away, that my desk and the area around it were flooded with paper, that I didn't do the dishes, etc... The list goes on, but you get the point. Of course, I won't be able to repare this whole mess just today, but I'm getting a good start by getting rid of the garbage and cleaning a bit of the kitchen and my work space. Sadly, the floor will have to wait to be properly cleaned (I can't even vacuum it right now lol... but I might be able to before I go to bed!).
On another note, I've been spending my time very well, playing video games mostly. I've made a full run of Game Dev Tycoon, but I keep going back to it because I want to unlock all the achievements (they're easy to get and I'm a bit of a completionist at times). I've also finished the Student Mode of One Finger Death Punch, a game I recommend to everyone, honestly! It's extremely well thought and fast-paced, and it always gets more and more challenging, which I love. On the bad side, the game is really ugly and completely ridiculous, but I mean, if that's what keeps you from enjoying it, you're clearly missing the point, since it's aimed to focus on destroying a lot of enemies using only the mouse clicks.
I've also gotten started on Hotline Miami, and so far I love everything about it, from the ambiance to the music. Sadly, I suck at it really badly, but some friends have told me I'll get better with time, and I hope so. I do find it to have a hard start on the player, though, but that's maybe just because I'm not that used to this kind of stressful games... But I really wanna keep going, it's extremely fun and rewarding when you do get to complete a stage.
There's also Pokémon Alpha Sapphire that I've started a bit, with no intend to rush it for now. I took it up to pass time more than anything else, but there are so many games I need to complete this summer, and I've already gone all over Sapphire at the time, so yeah... but it's still a lot of fun!
Also, while I'm on vacation, there are some little things I still need to take care of, which are:
1. With my great grades on my exam, I got to apply for more schools than Admission-Postbac (website for college aps) originally allowed me to. And I quickly got accepted into two very interesting programs: a fac (college for bachelor's degree) in theoretical mathematics, and a prep school (the system here is very different than in the US) in math. Although I was pretty sure that I'd be going to an art prep school, this opportunity really got me thinking. I have until July 17th to make my choice, so I need to be careful. Either way, I'd be doing something I like, but I need to think about what options it'll give me afterwards, and it's not easy... considering ultimately I want to do both art and math (which means I'll have to take one after the other in some way).
2. And this is just for fun actually. But I've planned to make little presents for my teachers of this past year, as a thank you gift. I've almost decided what I'll be drawing for each of them:
Math:
EulerBiology:
Pierre-Gilles de Gennes (I hope I can find this pic in higher quality) or
René FrydmanPhilosophy:
EpicureFrench:
Mallarmé (or
this one but I mean he always looks cool)
History:
François Ier or
Diane de Poitiers (probably gonna go with Diane de Poitiers bc I don't really like François Ier's mug)
Physics-chem: I don't know yet, but I've been thinking
Einstein or
Mendeleiev... or why not
Newton I think it'll be a good exercise for me as well as a nice gift! I hope they'll appreciate it.
Alright, now time to go back to cleaning orz
(And this evening I'm eating out with friends! Nothing fancy but they make great salads and I'm hyped)
