I played some piano today. And for the first time in a long while, I was able to enjoy it. Usually, I just hate practicing piano, it's infinitely boring and I tend to open a magazine in front of me so I can read and not fall asleep on the keyboard. But, I dunno, today I just played through the Arabesque 1 freely a couple of times, without really giving it too much thought. While it's not a regular practicing session, it still got some job done. And it was fun. I almost couldn't stop doing it. I guess I do like music after all.
I mean, I still suck at it horribly. But I want to get better. I also remembered that I used to be able to play a Bach concerto on the violin, and got really sad because I haven't played at all in two years... I really need to buy a practice mute and get some work done. But I get so anxious walking into a violin shop. I'm not sure why. Probably because I'm a really dumb and awful violonist and I can tell those violin people just know by looking at me. I know they know. They know I know they know. I know they know I know they know.

Anyway...
I also went to see a counselor today but it was closed because we're in the holiday period these weeks, and counselors just close their offices at 4:30 in holiday periods. Because I mean, why would you get work done?? Not like you need to get paid or anything. Ugh. It was a hassle finding the goddamn place to begin with. But whatever. I'll come back Tuesday.

I also finished Oyasumi Punpun, today. By far one of the very best mangas I've ever read. I feel like it truly exploited all of what this medium has to offer. I found Yuuichi particularly touching. Sachi as well, and Seki... They're probably my favorite characters of the story.
I recommend this manga to everyone, really. I know it won't be able to move everyone. But it's not its goal. Its goal is to make one think and reflect over the events it depicts. Because they're all realistic. And that's what's so scary.
In all cases, it's a masterpiece in terms of narration and storytelling. When it comes to technique, this manga really has everything. Objectively speaking, it's very unique, and that's why I think it's so important for everyone to give it a try.
I'll just stop there, I already ranted enough about it in French while writing a critique about it. Maybe I'll translate it someday. But I hate translating shit. So probably not gonna happen.
