I am a drifter.
Played an early concert today for a large group of elementary school kids / parents / teachers. It's the school where Doug's dad teaches. The audience was pretty much unresponsive. The best moment: we start playing Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song and this 50 year old man in the audience starts rocking out, singing all the lyrics, trying to get his little 5 year old into the music, moving closer to us and the PA speakers. The whole time the kid is covering his ears and looks completely terrified, but his dad is fuckin loving it, rocking out. SuperHouse made that dad's day today, and it was amazing.
Then I came home and slept a lot. I was supposed to go see improv shows with my mom but I was up way too late last night seeing improv shows and going to a party (where I got to talk to Megan Goodtime whom I hadn't seen in forever), so I stayed home tonight and got sleep. Then Doug and I went to Kerbey Lane, and I came home and updated livejournal. Woo!
In about a week we'll be driving to Santa Fe, New Mexico. And then straight from there to Houston, and then back to Austin in time for Thanksgiving break. I can't wait.
Also, I think I'm getting a van in the next week or so. YES! My own vehicle again, finally. And a big conversion van at that. It will be awesome. I want to invite people over to help paint it. I want to christen it as the SuperVan and drive it everywhere. We've been needing one for awhile because my mom has been nice enough to offer to drive our equipment everywhere, but we've been playing a lot of 10PM - 1AM weeknight bar shows lately, and she works at 6 in the morning. Not good for her at all.
Once I get a van, I need to make some phone calls and meet up with some people I haven't seen in forever. I need to hang out with more good friends for various reasons. If you want to hang out, let me know. I'm free during the day almost all of the time, and most weekend nights.
