ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

This morning has started awesome - I cut my finger open tying my shoelaces, couldn't find any scissors to cut a plaster (found some in the end though), as I was walking out the door the rain started and since I am wearing Chucks my feet are drenched because I don't worry about things like hemming trousers. Also, my team leader seems to be in one of her typically AWESOME moods.

Awesome.

I'm kinda over my job and that doesn't help at all. We have managers that couldn't manage their way out of a paper bag. A team leader that is one part bully, one part stupid and one part control freak. I'm tired of working my ass off and not even getting a thanks. I'm sick of making suggestions for improvement only to have the team leader claim the idea for her own. I'm sick of that slacker members of the team getting away with murder, and yet if I were to attempt the same thing I'd get called on it. I'm sick of the team leader alternately picking on each of us.

The problem is, I love most of the people that I work with and I don't want to go through the hassle of finding another job.

So starting this week I have come in with the strict intention of doing my work and actually taking my breaks. I will do my 8 hours and nothing more. And for those 8 hours I will only take the minimum amount of time to chat to my co-workers, generous application of the iPod will help with that. I will not complain about the slackers slacking off, and I will not be sarcastic any more.

Also, my feet are still wet. Maybe I will catch a cold??
