I sort of figure everyone else has known about this for weeks, but just in case: the privacy settings on Facebook have been changed so your profile will show up if someone chooses to search you through Google or something similar.
It's one of those automatic changes which you have to opt out of through your privacy settings, rather than opt in. Even if you have your profile set to 'friends' at the moment, it will still show up your name and photo in Google, Yahoo, etc if someone searches it.
If that idea doesn't appeal to you, sign into Facebook, go to 'Privacy' up the top, click 'Search', and go down until you see the box saying 'Allow my public search listing to be indexed by external search engines (ex. Google, Yahoo, MSN)' and un-check it. And of course, press 'save' down the bottom.
