Aerith is an extremely cheerful and upbeat young woman, smiling even in the face of adversity. Despite all the things she has gone through in her life, she maintains this cheery disposition and enjoys seeing others happy as well. Which is why she gets on so well with most, if not everyone that she meets. She is willing to do whatever she can to help people, even those she does not know.
One could easily classify her as a 'stepford smiler' as most would see the optimistic and upbeat nature and not once think that anything tragic had happened in her life time. She smiles to hide things and works on helping others so they do not worry about her problems, because theirs outweigh her own. She goes where she is needed and does what she needs to do no matter what. Once she puts her mind to something there is nothing that can stop her. She is a woman on a mission and if you get in her way then so help you.
Aerith likes to tease, joke and flirt. Be it because it's funny to see the other party flustered or because she is using it to her advantage, either way she is very convincing and good at getting what she wants and/or needs in most situations. Bubbly and cute does not make her stupid and she is in fact one of the more intelligent members of the party.
She also has a few odd personality quirks, like how she told Zack she had a list of 'little wishes' that she kept, or when she so easily accepted a man falling through her ceiling and asking if she was an angel. She is a little bit odd, but all in all she is a strong woman with a stronger heart. She is determined and can hold her own in a fight, and even if she couldn't, she knows she can depend on her friends to keep her safe. Just like she keeps them safe.
When she was younger she often times felt lonely because of what she was, and was isolated quite a bit. It's because of this that she cherishes the friends she makes and holds them close to her heart. She is still prone to feeling lonely at times, even with the planet communicating with her, or the flowers that she speaks to. It is nothing compared to having a conversation with an actual person, as much as she loves nature.
She tries to keep up her cheery attitude in every situation, even if it seems inappropriate. Though most might not realize it, she usually does it for the other party's well being and is not beyond being blunt and telling people how things really are. In the end she just doesn't want anyone dwelling on the negative things, because that won't get them far at all.
[Abilities]
Aerith isn't as much of a fighter as she is a healer. Most of her limit breaks deal with buffing and healing the party. So that's where he strengths lie. Using magic to heal wounds, up someone's HP, or cure their ailments. She's no miracle worker, but she gets the job done. In Crisis Core her stats aren't as high as they would be later, but she can still heal those that need it with her magic.
She has quite the green thumb as well, using this to make flowers grow even in the worst of conditions. Along with this, she has the ability to communicate with the planet due to her connection with the lifestream. Obviously she won't be able to do that at Somarium, but I assume she could still 'feel' things around her, and the nature surrounding them in general.

Protect myself and my friends, of course! Though I don't see why anyone would want to start a fight.
- Murder. What is your opinion?
Is wrong. Nobody has the right to take another person's life.
- There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?
Pick it up and see who might have dropped it, I guess. Though I don't think it would be very good after being out in the rain...
- Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?
By telling them what time it is? What a silly question.
- You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.
Well it depends on the person really, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. There isn't really anywhere to go, but maybe to the park or the shopping district? That sounds perfect to me!
- If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
I'd go back home if I could. All of my friends were there, but then again I did make a lot of friends here, too...

The sounds of girlish laughter echoed from the small field just outside the village Espoir, and upon closer inspection one would find the flower girl sitting there, stringing together flowers of various colours into a crown. A crown that would not go upon her own head but on the head of the scarecrow standing in front of her,
"Lean down for me, please?" She asked, her lips curling upward so her eyes would shut. She waited for the somewhat reluctant scarecrow to lean down, and then promptly placed the flower crown upon its head. "There!" she tapped a finger to her chin in thought, and the scarecrow tilted his head in response.
"I think it looks perfect!" She said finally, giving an approving nod to the creature; who in turn happily bounced off and away to go and show off his new crown.
Aerith stayed where she was in the field of flowers, still stringing together crowns even if all the scarecrows there already had one. The plan was, if she could even make that many, was to hand them out to as many people in Somarium as she could.
Though she might have to just work with the village for now.
