i randomly met the fabulous nepenthe_ and her andrew, and then ended up standing with them during the show. ilthem, fr srs. i also got to see notfarfromhome and topsyturvy again! yay lj meetups!
okay, SO:
first, surprise meet and greet! there were only a few northern downpour m&g people, and very few radio station ones, so they opened it up too all VIP people. al;sdkfjsl;dfjsldfj what. so yeah. anyway. i obvs didn't have anything with me, so i let them sign the little card they hand out -- which i had to promptly fold to put in my pocket for the show, but whatever -- and nothing momentous happened. brendon liked my hat. so that was cool. they're adorable.
i look like an idiot in the picture, but i was laughing at ryan ross, so idec.
i asked if someone else would do bunny ears with me, since i put them on 7_daze, and ryan was like, 'you asked for it' (ugh, SHUT YOUR FACE, RYAN ROSS), and then the picture didn't take right. so we had to have a re-do, and i was laughing, and was like, can i ask for bunny ears again? (I'M UNIMAGINATIVE, AND COULDN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE TO DO. D:) and he said, 'maaaybe. you'll never know.' and then sort of realized, OH WAIT, SHE'LL SEE THE PICTURE, and added 'at least not for five minutes, until you see the picture.' XD Ugh. ilhim even more than i thought, you guys.
also, when i told him that i'm happy they're happy now, when they were signing, he said, 'oh, thanks. we are, too.' and i was cracking up on the inside, because, no, ryan, i expected you to be SAD that you're happy now. silly boy. <333333
THEN:
phantom *motherfucking* planet, you guys. the hushies came out to sing 'big brat' with them again, like they did in columbus (the 'i need you to summon level 10!' song, people that have seen the tour), and greta is beautiful, and chris can play the fuck out of a bass, and darren drums like a fucking madman. bob didn't come out either show. and oh yeah, since sam takes over for alex on guitar? alex goes fucking INSANE. climbing on shit on the stage, jumping down into the pit between the stage and the barrier, swinging his mic, just. ALL OVER. he practically looked possessed, and it was AWESOME.
ALSO????? I GOT FINGERHEARTS, ppl. i held up fingerhearts to alex in columbus and tonight. in columbus, his guitar was in the way, so what he held up was mostly a failheart, but still, it was awesome knowing he saw? tonight, he saw me, stopped walking, and i got a perfect little fingerheart, and the girl next to me got a picture! ♥_♥ seriously, my love for them is growing at a SOMEWHAT ALARMING RATE. they just put on such a fantastic show, and also they are precious.
the hush sound were good. i am coming to realize that i maybe like them better on cd, when i can hear everything better, than i do live. they're all lovely, but they just don't grab my attention like PP did. however, brendon came out and sang don't wake me up with them, and it was awesomesauce.
i endured motion city thanks in large part to the AWESOME security guy that kyla (the girl next to me that got the OMGFINGERHEARTS pic) and i were talking to between sets, had brought extra earplugs and gave kyla, D and i some. (coincidentally, his name was also andrew, and i <3 him.) my problem with motion is that it all sounds like the same song to me, and that's fine for a while, but their set is WAY too long, imho. also, their fans are, in general, assholes. pushy, moshy, wanting to surf. that's the mcs fans.
and then panic. what can i even say, really. they were AMAZING. so very on, and brendon (and ryan, and jon!) sounded excellent. also, spencer talked! he intro'd lying, and just talked randomly for a few minutes. and then he went back to beating the everloving shit out of his drums.
brendon was ridiclous and adorable, though right this minute i can't think of anything specific.
ryan was doing his dorky little smile THE WHOLE TIME. UGHHH. <333333333
jon was barefoot. (sorry erica!)
also also also, i love zack. the end.
