SO. First, congrats to those crazy kids. Much like Ryan Ross, I wish them the best. May they 'live happily ever after.'
Second: I got to meet the ever-so-lovely
notfarfromhome (who is absolutely as precious in person as you would imagine) and the equally lovely
topsyturvy! Can't wait to see y'all tomorrow! (TODAY, EEP. >.>)
THIRDLY, PHANTOM PLANET, YOU GUYS. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. All the Hushies but Bob came out to play a song with them, Greta and Darren on single drums they had set up, and Chris on bass, and Alex went crazy. He was climbing off scaffolding and stalking across stage, and I was VERY ATTRACTED TO HIM, OKAY? OKAY? Ugh.
I love the Hushies, but I really think I'd like them more in a more intimate setting. It's hard to pay attention when people are pushing and shit.
Motion City was endured. They were having some trouble with equipment, and just a generally bad night, but it wasn't that. I'm just. Not captivated by them. At all. Their set sounds like an hour of the same song. :/
Oh yeah, and there were also, um, OMG. STONERFACES AT THE DISCO. <3_<3
They were totally precious, okay? And worth the pushing we were getting up near the barrier like we were. But not worth the motherfucking crowd surfers falling on my head. It was an outdoor venue, and as
7_daze's friend pointed out, I hope that is what lead to the retardedness because it would mean it's not as likely to be so bad tomorrow. Seriously? Someone FELL ON MY HEAD. >:[ NOT COOL.
So yeah, we got out of the pit about 4 songs into Panic, which meant I could pee (\o/) and get a drink, and we could all breathe. Then we ended up on the hill toward the back, and we could see SO WELL. I'm sad that we missed Behind the Sea in the drink-acquiring process, but there's tomorrow.
Also also, when the bar/smaller venue that is attached to the Pavillion thingy opened, I went in search of a bathroom, as you do, and I have a weird thing where I feel like I have to buy something if I go in a store? I can't *just* use the bathroom.
So I was going to get a vodka-cranberry sour, since it's one of the few drinks I know I like. So the bartender makes it, and is like, are you worried about a place in line?
And I was like, ummm, no, I have friends in line.
And he was like, oh, okay. Because you guys could come up here, and there's a line that goes in after early entry right over there. So, you know, I got my ppl, and we got to sit inside for an hour or so. \o/ \o/ \o/
The bartender also totally made me a strong-ass drink on the house, something like a vodka-cranberry sour, but with grenadine, and lime juice, and lime and cranberry vodka, and omg. So good. SO GOOD. I totes had another after we got out of the pit, and he wouldn't let me pay for that, either. Did the bartender buy me two drinks? O_o
You guys, this is superlame? But no one's ever bought me a drink before. This shit did not even TASTE alcoholic, either.
But oh, IT WAS. OM NOM NOM.
