update...........
I have a shit-ton of homework to do, so this will be a quick LJ update/homework break...
Ummm, ok, Friday was wonderful! Rachel and I went to the beach but it was overcast and rainy and cold and an all-around bad beach day. So, we sat at the tiki bar of a nice resort and drank beers and mudslides. Then, we proceeded to get tipsy, act really obnoxious in the hot tub and walk around on the beach with no regard for the fact that it was cold and now not rainy, but it was in fact raining. Then, we decided to have lunch on St. Armand's at Cha-Cha Coconuts, I got a chicken sandwich that I was not fond of. Whatever, it was a great day.
Martin came that evening, we went to dinner at Tijuana Flats with Christina and Jenna. Before this, however, Christina and I baked a 2-layered birthday cake for Amanda since her 21st birthday was on Saturday. On Friday night, after dinner, we had everyone over at our apartment and had a wonderful birthday party for Amanda.
Saturday, Martin and I went to the beach all day and I got REALLY REALLY burned, like, really red. I went back to St. Pete on Saturday night and my mom cut some aloe from me off of our aloe plant and made me rub the leaves all over my body. I went to St. Pete because I was planning on running in a 12k a race on Sunday morning that I was registered for. Weeeelllll.... I woke up at like 6:45 on Sunday morning to get ready for the race and I was blacking out, I puked up everything in my stomach and I was really dizzy. I think I had a mild case of sun poisoning. Needless to say, I was really really pissed at myself because I wanted to run so badly and I made this personal commitment that I had to break because I did something foolish the day before that made me sick. Dammit!!
Ok, so since I couldn't run, I decided to go to church, that was all well and good. I had a 1:00 interview at this ice cream shop on Pass-a-Grille beach that I went to and it went really well! The shop is family-run, everyone was really friendly and welcoming, the other young workers (coincidentally all guys) really liked me too and said they wanted me to get hired. The owners offered me the job after an hour-long interview. I think they expect me to work every weekend until summer when I would (hopefully) work full-time. This idea of me working every weekend makes me nervous, I don't have a car, so transport to and from St. Pete would be a challenge. Also, I need to spend some weekends in SRQ, I like it here, I need my party time... we'll just have to play it by ear. I originally wanted the job so that I could bike there over the summer and it is a lot more causal than the law firm, I just wanted something different. Every fucking break I have from school I work at the damn law firm and I wanted change, and ice cream shop sounded like fun. Well... the law firm had benefits that I may miss. First of all, it was really fucking close to my house whereas the ice cream shop is about 8 miles, I could bike to the ice cream shop daily but it would take up a lot of my time and it would be really hot during the summer. However, biking 16 miles a day would make me really fucking fit. Also, the law firm hours are the same hours that Martin works, so we always had the evenings together. The ice cream shop is open till 10:00pm, I would not want to have to work nights because then I would miss my time with him. Maybe I will work part-time at both places, it's all up in the air for right now. I am, however, working next weekend.
