* Add coarsely chopped candy corn and chopped candied ginger and a little cinnamon to oatmeal cooky dough. (It's best if the dough isn't too sweet.) Bake on foil or baking parchment, since some of the candy corn always melts and gets everywhere.
* Make oatmeal spice cookies, substituting canned pumpkin and a blob of peanut butter for some of the shortening. Add chopped walnuts and butterscotch chips.
* Make pumpkin bisque with the remains of the can of pumpkin. I used water, chopped onion, canned pumpkin, vegetarian bouillon, cinnamon, ginger, fresh marjoram and chervil (optional - I grow herbs, so I had them on hand), various other seasonings to taste, a blob of coconut milk (optional), and instant potato flakes. (The potato flakes were to thicken it up, since the soup was awfully thin with just the pumpkin.) This is also good with cheese sprinkled on it.
In other news, I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year, but I am writing. I'm currently working on a contemporary urban fantasy Hound of the Baskervilles pastiche, which at least is appropriately autumnal.
