I think I have decided on what my next tattoo will be. It will be on my left shoulder I think and it will be a branch of a persimmon tree in the style of David Lance Goines who illustrates all the Chez Panisse books. It will kind of look like this...
So the reason I'm getting this is because we have a persimmon tree in our back yard that we planted a long time ago but it never bore any fruit and my grandma asked every year if there were any persimmons but there never were. This past year she died and a few weeks after she passed we found the first little fruit on the tree, so its in memory of her. And I guess the style is because mainly I like it and secondly because I grew up around Chez Panisse cookbooks. My mom worships Alice Waters, so maybe it's a little shoutout to her too. The Nakamura women.
