"If its windy they sink; If it isn't they park". Yesterday sailing at Sembawang was bad. (it was still fun to go out. rather than stay at home and rot while trying to mug) After waiting for the storm to end, there was no wind 90% of the time!--all the wind got "sucked up", LOL. So we 'parked' most of the time. Not really, come to think of it. We practised "what to do when there's no wind". I learnt the Acrobatics Stunt from Zi Chong -- standing on the boat and rocking it side to side to 'fan' the sail. And his Laser is really nice to sail! Nice big sail area. Compared to the slacky slow Topper.
Thou silly wind, grant me my wish!!!
Towards the end, when it was 5+pm, the wind really completely died. Eden turned his Topper turtle and disappeared underwater without coming up for a really long time, which caught the worried attention of a couple of uncles who thought he died and went whizzing after him on a motorboat. And that's how he got himself, and later Zi Chong as well, and much later me as well, a tow back to shore. Ahah. A technique to learn -- How to Get Yourself A Free Tow Back to Shore--by playing dead.
The next time we can finally go sailing at Changi! Yes! I'm a masochistic girl who wants to get owned by strong winds and die! Therefore, I shall take out a Laser Radial or Byte at Changi. Mwahaha.
I am resigned to getting called "Ching Teng" (literally translated into Chinese, "clear soup" -- you know, the sweet Chinese dessert thingy the aunties and uncles love to eat.) by Freddy ("where's my ching teng???" As if I'd even buy this auntie a ching teng.) and Sehamat. Jason knows how to pronounce my name but he still calls me Ching Teng anyway. Evil. I look forward to Topper continuation training--hopefully Rohaizan will be coaching.
